Dark Thunder pearl
« on: October 03, 2006, 03:10:14 PM »
I threw my friend's Dark Thunder Pearl today and it didn't move much at all.  I threw it when the lanes were already fried outside 10 and left a two pin.  I blame his choice in drilling over the ball itself.  He put the pin under the middle finger and the cg down and over so he could use a low weight hole.  That puts the pin at 6" from my PAP, and being a high tracker it's a miracle I didn't clip.  Still my viz-a-ball hooked more today.  Not that this is a bad thing, could definite use on fried lanes.

private issue for cal bowling supply 3000 of dark thunder solid and pearl made of each. I know people who work there and buy from there, both limited editions that when they are gone they are gone.

Well...new posting...threw it on hooking wood lanes and the ball had a decent amount of backend...but still...this ball...like kman said...does not hook up like i thought it would and i am no way rev challenged...just wondering zonepro...what kind of pin(from cg) does yours have...mine is 3.5 - 4...maybe that is making a difference

No way rev challenged??...they call me THE HAND for a reason...where's your nickname???...lol...I witnessed SunStorm tossing this rock a bit as well...didn't have the booming backend I thoguht I was going to see...but seemed to roll well...isn't one of your original Dark Thunder's set up like the DTP?  Or very similar to that?

I had a Hot Rod Pro Stock Pearl that shares the Monsoon Pearl cover.  It was drilled pin under bridge (5-1/2" form PAP), with a flare-increasing weight hole.  THAT ball hooked a ton, all on the backend.  I could use it on medium to heavy conditions if the backends were clean.
