Which reads midlane sooner
« on: May 12, 2006, 05:28:42 AM »
Pyro or Agent.  My teamate is having problems leaving 10 pins in our summer league and is looking to get a ball that reads the midlane a little earlier.  Which one will start up sooner w/ the same drilling?

I haven't seen either, so it would be hard to say.  I might expect the Pyro to roll a little sooner due the particle pearl coverstock, but the Agent does have a lower RG and slightly higher differential.  They also come with the same box finish, however.  For me, particle pearls have always read the lane a little sooner than straight up reactive pearls, but we'll have to wait to hear from someone who has thrown both.

Besides buying a new ball, your friend can try scuffing the ball surface lightly. Should change the reaction shape a bit, smoothing out the breakpoint, and result in a slightly changed, less steep entry angle into the pins. Can have great effect on pin impact and spare leaves (and is cheap, too).
