Title: ANARCHY VS IQ TOUR PEARL
Post by: J_w73 on March 15, 2013, 12:55:17 PM
How would these two balls compare? Would they be similar?  What ball would be close to an Anarchy, storm or other company??

So am i; i have both and wondering if i may need to change the surface on my iq as my anarchy is drilled for a skid snap reaction.

I have not drilled my iq pearl as of yet.

Totally different for me. Had the anarchy was too strong for anything I bowl on so didn't last long. The iq is much more continuous and handles far less oil. The iq is a medium oil the ball where the anarchy is more of a heavy oil ball.....however, I should add that I only get to bowl in any volume on some sport patterns and at nationals....

The anarchy is a moderately strong asymmetrical ball with a fairly aggressive coverstock formulation. The IqTP is a symmetrical piece with a tad weaker cover. They are very different reactions which may not be as noticeable on THS.

Mine are both laid out with low flare pin positions. I find the IqTP the better option for opening up the lane. The anarchy is more even for me on THS but it hits like a tank.

I'd hazard a guess that if a polished Lucid would be the closest current Storm ball to the Anarchy.

I would agree with Charlest. Pearl covers. Similar core shapes. Both fill the same spot in Storm's lineup.

The Anarchy and IQTP aren't comparable in the slightest sense...

In the storm/roto line, it would be either the nano pearl, critical theory, or Lucid...

thanks for the info. I guess this is a situation where the BTM reviews of newer and older equipment aren't comparable.. They have these balls rated pretty close to eachother..  They actually have the IQ tour pearl better at handling heavier oil.

I will go with the real world information and recommendations here.

Thank you.

I've thrown the Anarchy and the IQTP. The rg may be low on both, but the diff on the IQTP is much lower so it was overall much smoother for me front to back.  Depending on your particular style, you may find the anarchy better for heavier oil.  Conversly, you may find the IQTP better...that's something that you would have to discuss with your shop as theyve seen you bowl (at least I hope they have).

The closest ball in the current line up would be the Marvel Pearl. Everything matches up closer than any other ball, minus the PSA. The Lucid is much cleaner than an Anarchy, and reads the lane a lot differently. Marvel pearl will read the lane similar, but have a bit more continuation. I drilled many an anarchy, and many a Marvel pearl.

Surfaces seem fairly similar although cores are totally different.  My IQP is stronger off the break point than I anticipated.  Anarchy was stronger out of the box, but tamed down considerably in no time.  As a low rev guy I have similar problems with both balls.  Too much over under.  Anarchy not as strong as advertized from inside ( Original VG, and Lucid are much better ).  IQP stronger than advertized, but not strong enough.  Can't stay out with it and cant get it to hit in.
