Ya think?

Hard to argue with what Rhino did on the show.  I do wonder what he saw during practice before the finals started to make him switch to the high pin Hy-Road?  That ball just didn't want to read early enough for him...too bad he did start the finals with the ball he used against Wes.

Also PA's hits weren't exactly the best...but it's about the # of pins and not how they went down.

Only wonder if that shot clock issue really got to him or not.  I thought it was funny that Randy commented about it like he did.  I recall Randy many years ago on TV pulling off a thread from his robby's brace and totally missing the very next shot.

I thought the fact that he was worried about the shot clock was odd.  Probably part of his routine is to check the shot clock before going?

I won't call it a choke, just an unfortunate turn of events...Rhino took note of the shot clock instead of going into his PSR..why worry about a $100 violation when 25k extra is on the line? 50k to 25k on a shot clock situation...

Nobody here can say they would be able to finish the job or put themselves in position to do what Rhino did today.

It happens every time....A disstraction, temporary lost of focus...Even in league.

He needed not to worry about the shot clock, just pay the fine and win the match.

Same thing happens to me in league....I string 5 or 6 strikes together, then go to the restroom. All of a sudden my line dissapears.

Not sure I would say that it's happening all the time.  In the match, Wes stopped 2 or 3 times for distractions and I believe he proceeded to go out and strike the next shot.

I think it's a matter of circumstance more than anything else.....and we look to find something else to blame instead of not being able to refocus!!

I've had the same thing....go to the bathroom after shooting a solid 270 game and then wham....shot is gone.  And that's because I changed focus??  Nope.....not what I see.

If Chris Barnes did it you all would a call it a choke.  He was locked in and had one ball to win.  Choke.

He pures the first in the 10th....throws 11 out the window and it's a choke?

If he were "choking" the first in the tenth wouldn't have been good either.

Everyone on this board is so incredibly clutch....

Amen! Preach it brutha!

Seriously, I'm so sick of these backseat bowlers. If you were so beast, you'd be bowling against him instead of PA, then you could laugh all the way to the bank instead of asking other bowlers of your house-hack skill level to verify that your theory is valid.

thats not what happend if you saw on the show he was tellin the official the shot clock had already started before he even had his pins set.. if you tivo'd it go back and listen to what he said.. and he just didn't hit the ball at the bottom and it had no chance at recovering.. I'm sure a lot of you have thrown worse shots for free nonetheless 50 grand..

The choke isn't referring to the game, but just that shot.  At that moment, on that shot, he couldn't pull it off, and disasterously so.  In the highest pressure moment, when he needed a good shot, he couldn't.  Some call that a choke.  Wilting under pressure?  Cracking under the nerves?  Whatever you call it, he didn't perform when he most needed to.

I was there and you could see Rhino all worked up after he saw what PA did in the 10th..he wasn't watching the shots but after he opened his eyes you could see all the build up in him.
He was breathing super heavy and his face said it all.  He probably had too much adrenaline going on.  I will also say that PA was giving him the hex while he was on the approach. He was looking down and making a weird squinty grimmace on his face..
As for the ball choice .. the ball was fine as long as Rhino went after it with his hand.  There were a couple of shots at the beginning he just didn't put his hand and release into it.. and then after he pointed at the lanes he was back on track with his release..

also Mallot should have switched to the Cell pearl when he went heavy the first time.. The cell was just moving too early. He was thowing it in warm up after the first match and it was looking pretty good.  I think he was just caught in wanting to try to make what he was using work...
