Arsenal build around OG Hy Road and Hy Road X
« on: March 10, 2019, 10:44:53 AM »
Got the approval to add a ball to my arsenal around an OG Hy Road and Hy Road X. Had hit the HRX with a 2000/4000 pad and have been loving it but wouldn’t mind restoring the polish if it made more sense filling a gap my next ball could fit into.  I was looking at the IQ tour but I’m sort of lost as to what my needs are. My goal is yo really be equipped for league play down the line.

- RH with med revs and 15-16mph speed.
- 10-12 board midlane and a breakpoint at 5-6 downlane.

Best always talking to good PSO first.  IQ Tour would slot between 2 you already have but might think about a much cheaper Hustle Ink to go under both the balls.  If going to bowl tournaments or sport patterns would go IQ Tour but if find the OG Hy-Road is sometimes too much ball would go Hustle Ink.

Good information bowlingfordonuts; To add to it, it also depends on what conditions you bowl on. You certainly may need something that picks up earlier and smooths our downlane ( the hyroads push far down lane, reading later and sharper).

So if you see more oil, a hyroad nano would fit the bill also, lighter oil, bowlingfordonuts nailed it.

Provide the conditions you see to help out more.

Code X or idol would be nice at the top of the arsenal.

In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

I would go Phaze 2 or Idol (if you see the volume). Would not recomend the IQ Tour as I feel the Phaze 2 is the better tournament ball. Ask the pros or check Storm's latest Facebook live video to see what I mean.
League: Pitch Purple, Destiny Magenta
Testing: MVP
Interests: Black Widow, Proof Solid, Idol Pearl

I agree with some of the above. The Code X, Phaze II, & Idol could all be options for something that rolls earlier and can handle more volume. Hyroad X and OG Hyroad all tumble pretty far down the lane and sometimes you need something to pick up and read sooner.
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

Thanks for all the awesome feedback and advice.

I ended up opting for the idol and I absolutely love it.  I put the shine back on my X as well to bring it back to box as close as possilble.

Definitely let's me play a bit more left on the THS and I can play off the X when it starts to dry up.

Probably will add an Ink to the mix eventually when I can convince the wife to buy a bigger bag  ;D
