Shift
« on: March 06, 2008, 11:57:19 AM »
Storm mentioned that the Attitude and Gravity shift are both for medium to heavy but one is a solid and the other pearlised. Can anyone enlighten what is the different in reaction between the 2 balls ? And it is true that both are medium to heavy ball ? Sorry am asking because I am looking for a strong heavy oil ball. Thanks !

The Gravity Shift has a lower RG core that will rev up sooner when it encounters friction, but it also has a pearl coverstock (and the box finish is polished), so it wants to slide more through oil and grab harder off the dry.  It's a good 1-2 combination.  When the lanes are oily, you probably would use the Attitude Shift, then switch to the Gravity Shift when you start to work in some friction on the lanes.

Thanks for the reply...I only intend to get the Gravity shift, is it a good piece for heavy oil lanes ?

Gravity is a "strong" pearl. But pearl none the less, so you may have to play it straighter &/or use slower speed to give the ball time to read the lane for a longer period of time. In heavy oil you pretty much have to do that any way until you create some friction.  The solid cover of the Attitude will do that sooner than the pearl Gravity.  You can also tweak the cover.

I also notice you mention in your profile that you have higher speed.  That makes me wonder if you want a pearl for heavy oil?

I also notice you already have a Rising, is that a heavy oil ball?  I thought that was a pretty big hooking dull ball.  How does that one work?
