Atomic Charge.

Anyone throw one yet? Can you do a mini-review on it? And can you compare it to the Razor Wire?

The Atomic Charge is much stronger than the Wire series balls. This ball has a solid Monsoon cover on the Recharge core. This ball is a little longer than the XXX-Treme and a little more angular. Ball is very clean out of the box but i havent used one polished yet. Hope this helps

Along with Jeff's Comments let me add this.

I drilled mine with a pin down at 4 1/2" (center line just under fingers) with an extra hole at 45 degrees and 5" from the center of my grip. I am an above average handed player and use it for its early revving and control. THe midlane read is great and have used it out of box condition both on PBA shots and league shots and it really is a phenomenal benchmark ball for me. It complements my recharge extremely well and is just as controllable. The hit is impressive as well. Compared to the Razor it is a much ealier and stronger ball.

How does it compare to the Super Charge?  I've been trying to order one, but our distributor hadn't received them yet as of last week.  If it hits anything like the Super, I ought to be in business.  I'm guessing it goes longer and is stronger on the backend with slightly less hook?

Yes its much stronger off the breakpoint than the supercharge. For me I personally like the atomic a lot more than the supercharge. The supercharge tends to burn up to early for me and not make the corner very well from inside.
The supercahrge was a very condition oriented ball for me. The atomic is more versatile for me.

The AC is my new favorite ball right now, if you like the Erase-it you will love the Atomic Charge. I had underestimated the strenght of Monsoon cover with a green pad you can play this in a good amount of oil. I see why the Fear Factor didn't sell well, a particle monsoon is a strong MB core the ball just rolled at your feet.

WOW! If this ball is longer and more angular then the XXX-treme, it must be a freakin BEAST! I WANT IT!

Its not more angular than the extreme. Its earlier than the extreme. Stronger coverstock gives it a wider footprinton the lane and earlier midlane read than Accutread on the Extreme. NOT LONGER AND Stronger!

I've got an Atomic Charge, pin just below the ring finger, and the cg kicked out to the right a bit, maybe 4-430 in relation to the pin.  Small weighthole to bring the ball back to legal.  First off, let me say that this ball flat out hooks.  I normally throw in the 17-19mph range, depending on the condition, with above average hand.  I also have Recharge, and this ball rolls a little earlier, but is stronger overall.  My recharge is more skid/flip.  I found the reaction with the box finish a little touchy, so I put a nice coat of polish on the ball.  Ball gets down the lane a little cleaner now, with much more pop on the backend, and its much more of a consistent reaction for me.  Hitting power is excellent as well.  This ball reminds me a lot of the Flash Force, just a lot stronger.

I agree the Atomic is much stronger than the wires however for me the atomic is earlier and angular but not as angular as my Extreme. Now both are not drilled identically but surface is similiar. For me the diffference is the atomic is earlier and not quite as snappy for me. I wasn't disagreeing with Jeff just giving my 2 cents as well.

Keep in mind some balls react different for different people. I have a little more ball speed than Bill and my release gets the ball down the lane a little easier. For me the Atomic Charge is a little longer than my XXX-tremes based off of similar layouts and box finishes. Thats why it is very important to base your decisions off of what would be best for you, not somebody else.

Agreed 100%

When I get a new ball the first thing I look at is putting one of my personal favorite layouts in it. If you have one its a good place to start.

Good luck this week Jeff.
