Hy-Road
« on: March 15, 2009, 11:52:08 AM »
Hi all, would like to seek advice on the Hy-Road finishing
In OOB, the Hy-Road is 1500 grit with polished, if I am to use only abralon pad, what grit should I go for ? 2000 abralon grit ? Thanks !

For me, I didn't care too much for the Hy-Road out of the box polished at 1500.   It just didn't read all that well for me.  So I took it to 4000 abralon and also hit it with with some ball cleaner on a spinner.  I usually use Power House.  This puts just a little "sheen" on the surface.  Next block out I shot 841 with it.  It is one of the most predictable balls I have ever thrown.  I'm already looking for another one...

If you just want to use abralon, i would say 4000 or a used 4000 as your final sanding pad. It should smooth the reaction a little more than the oob finish but that is just because you are only using abralon and no polish.
