On the oil side of my arsenal, I consider the Marvel-S the earliest, most aggressive, and my Crux as a step below which is slightly more angular and works when I need to move in. I also have an IQ Nano that I go to when I need to stay in same place as Marvel-S and just need more push.
I have been considering adding a new item above the Marvel-S, if something like that exists. A more angular shape like the Crux, just with the ability to handle more oil. Common sense points me to the Lock. Is it that much more aggressive to warrant spending the money?

In my opinion (and everyone has one) no, the Lock is not enough ball to make that choice. Maybe the Alpha Crux will be once we see some Demos and Vids of the ball. For me, the Lock has been identical to the Crux in that I have talked to and seen as many people who like the ball as those who dislike the ball, for various reasons.

The ball you're looking for, most likely, is the Hyper Cell. Unfortunately, it is discontinued. You probably can find one online or perhaps on Facebook at bowlingballtradingpost. If it does not have to be Storm/Roto, you might consider a Jackel from Motiv or a Bad Intentions drilled strong and taken to 1000 or 500. Look at the RG and Diff #'s and find something similar with an aggressive cover. All of this, of course, is in my humble opinion.

If you can grab a Hyper Cell, then I would go for it. But, if you were to look outside of Storm/Roto, the Jackal Carnage would really fit the bill.

I agree that if you want to look outside of Storm for something right now, then yep, Jackal Carnage (when it is available in 15 days) sure seems as if it will fit the bill.

Depends on how long you want to wait. The Carnage and Alpha Crux would be at the top of my list for this.

I couldn't help myself. I pulled trigger on a Lock. It's exactly the reaction and strength I was looking for. It's 5 boards hotter off the spot than the Crux with a big backend motion.
