Ball for carry down?

advise needed

need a ball for carry down

my hyroad(oob) wich was drilled rico cant do the job

tried to use the virtual(oob) to cut tru the carry down but there was too thin a oil to get the job done making the virtual jump at the backend

appreciate a lay out suggestion too.

oh yah ball suggestion would prefer not to alter oob surface as well

I tend to agree with Easy10pins. Usually moving inside more will eliminate the ten pin leaves, all though as you are discovering, this sometimes just gets you the easier to make 4 pin. Personally I start leaving 10 pins later in the night due to my thumb swelling and my not getting a clean release. Time to take some tape out of the ball, or put the teflon tape in.

I'm playing outside of 10 on most league nights using the Chainsaw drilled pin axis.  If I get carrydown, I just move outside of 5 and adjust my hand/finger position a bit.

I tried moving in with a different ball but, like you, started leaving 10 pins like crazy.

A particle pearl ball is what's needed here especially if the head-oil is going or is gone..

Adjusting to get "around" the carrydown may work, but often times the ball won't recover due to the oil being push out to that area as well. IMHO, a ball change is warranted..

Currently I have three favorite bowling balls for THS: the Surefire Hybrid at 2000 Abralon, the Hy-Road hybrid at 4000 Abralon, and the Roto Silver Streak SE hybrid polished. I would suggest you might want to take your Hy-Road to 4000, or even 2000 Abralon before giving up on it for carry down. I think you will find that at 4000 Abralon the Hy-Road doesn't give up much if any length

If I may make a suggestion, the Second Dimension would be a very good choice. Strong core forces a strong roll, the pearlized coverstock and light load of Mica increases traction down the lane. the rico drilling does create a ball to spin quick but without converstock tration the layout is no help.
