Any Suggestions?
« on: June 28, 2009, 01:16:51 PM »
My buddy is currently rolling with a 15Lb 2nd Dimension but has noticed that he has to slow the ball down to get it to the pocket. He feels like he has no control when he slows it down and he also says its uncomfortable.  He is throwing about 14.9 when he slows it down but is used to throwing it at 16-17mph.  We are currently in discussions about what would be a good ball for him to throw if he wants to keep his speed and feel comfortable.  Now keep in mind this would be for THS or Med-Heavy oil patterns.  His 2nd Dimension works wonders for him once the lane starts breaking down and I believe that is because it is a pearl.  Any Suggestions?

Try taking the ball down too 2000 with a
abralon pad. This ball works really well with this surface.

Thanks for the reply never give up. But he said he would much rather keep this ball for the different oil conditions at its current polish. He was actually hoping to find a different ball to help him with the oiler lane conditions. Might you have any other suggestions?

I am not sure about the Cell.  I threw one myself and I have more revs then him, it didn't really turn for me like the Storm products do.  I figure that Roto Grip is probably the next best thing to Storm, but I wasn't impressed!!

What about the regular Dimension?  It's a solid cover, so it's a tad stronger & is the same core as the 2d.  Should read the lane a touch sooner, so I don't think he'd have to slow it down.  I bought the regular Shift when it came out, but on heavier oil it didn't react soon enough, so I got the Attitude Shift when it came out & that's my main 2 ball arsenal I use.  I can pretty much use the same general lines.  Start w/the Attitude for a game & then switch to the Shift if the lanes break down too fast.  JMO.

Sounds like an Original Dimension would be perfect...it will give you a similar reaction shape on more oil...great 1-2 punch

Awesome.  We had talked about the Dimension but were not sure.  This helps a lot and I appreciate the feedback.  I figured that would be a good 1-2 punch but was iffy on it.  I will let him know.  Thanks again
