Belmo Ball
« on: December 24, 2016, 01:25:15 PM »
So the new Belmo ball for 2017. Seems like it has the Code Black characteristics. I wonder if they're doing a version of the RAD4 with the R2S Hybrid, polished.
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

From what I could tell it looked to be lower end but I could be wrong.  My guess is something along the thunder line strength wise..
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

I feel like they want to retire the Hy-Road some day. I would actually love for it to be a thunder line ball.

That video made it seem like it has an entirely new core with a coverstock he's had success with in the past. My guess is another R2S ball. Could be the Timeless.

That timeless looks like the respect cover. Exactly like the respect cover...If they didnt just discontinue it. And it was a GREAT cover, they could have used atleast one different color on that timeless.

no they used the exact same colors and all.   Gotta be that cover.

Atleast we know it's super dope.

Hype train is full steam ahead and you guys are lapping it up like a kitten with warm milk. Whenever storm fires up the hype machine, I go back and look at the pre-hype videos for the phaze and fight and come to my senses.

That's only really true if you end up buying the ball(s). I'm 99% certain I won't. Been put off a bit by some recent experiences with Storm/Roto Grip. Just making observations.

Storm can hype all they want, but when you don't deliver people take notice when balls cost $150-$250 out the door.  I personally felt like I was hyped by the first Crux. Ball was OK, but for me it never ever was anything close to the hype.
Then the Fight.....good ball for 40-50 games, then nothing.  De-oil/resurface was no help.  Just another expensive boat anchor.
Storm is not winning everything like they once did.   They now consistently share wins with Motiv, EBI which says the other companies are putting out very good equipment with little to no hype at least when compared to Storm.   Sorry Storm, I am not buying any of the Belmo hype on the proposed ball you apparently will be bringing out.
On a more positive note........Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday to all!

I can chime on this as well...  I also fell into the same trap years ago, until I joined a have a ball league that was only Brunswick poured balls, and since then, I've opened my eyes that being loyal is NOT always the way to go, and use what fits you, NOT based on hype.

I throw Motiv, Brunswick, and DV8 now; No more being trapped into the hype machine for me anymore.

I'm sure most of the bowling companies has a ball or more that can hook just as much as that ball.
Belmo can make all balls in that class hook a lot.

The Scandal probably hooks just as much, if not more.

I'll be sticking with Motiv and Hammer.
Most used:
Motiv Venom Shock (14)
DV8 Grudge Hybrid (14)
Hammer Scandal (14)
DV8 Freakshow (14)

Sometimes.
C300 Swerve (14)
Motiv Jackal LE (14)

Retired:
Roto Grip Sinister (13)
Motiv Jackal (14)

Given to a no-thumber in the club:
Brunswick T-zone (13)

Might stick with Motiv from now on.

I like the part where he's talking about bringing the ball reaction a bit closer, and dudes are talking about changing the RG and diff.

Or you could adjust the surface...
