I'm going to be bowling in a local tournament this week. Got a couple of games on fresh and in the afternoon bowling the burn squad on those same lanes. I haven't had much luck using the weaker equipment, so was thinking of using the hyroad (try to get the ball further down the lane) or a rocket. Anyone have any experience with using these two equipments on drier conditions?

I bowled last night on the burn with my Hyroad
everything else in my bag was too jumpy on the back end
I have a pin down conservative drill and I was able to keep it under control and in the pocket all night
never thrown a Rocket
-
The Hy-Road would be more ideal than a Rocket on drier conditions, but I'd recommend the Ride over both.

Rocket is pretty strong, I like the Hyroad for the burn. I think it's hard to get real deep and still make the ball to go through the pins with anything weaker like Ride or Up Roar.
-
I did try the ride for these conditions and its just a big no no for me. Playing right will make it go through the face and inside i just can't carry. If i do land on the hyroad which pin distance, top weight, ect should I look for? i Have to order online now since my pro shop got kicked out by amf so i buy and bring it to any pro shop i can find.

Dont use the rocket on the burn or second shift.. ball is jsut too strong off the spot under this conditions
-
boo i was hoping the rocket was gonna fit this so i can have an excuse to buy it.
-
Rocket could work as long as you adjust the cover stock.....problem normal is just to strong off the spot due to the cover being to long and saving to much energy for the back ends
-
I mean if you just wanted to buy the Rocket there is always an adjustment for that, but I'd rather use something weaker.

Ball is great on the fresh medium oil or even on long patterns with moderate oil, it's my go to ball out of the bag at OOB finish, the only problem I find with it is that, if there is not enough head oil (even if the cover stores energy for the backend), ball will rev up pretty quick and will be hard to control
