cheaper utah solid
« on: January 22, 2013, 01:13:24 PM »
I saw great prices on bowlinngball.com/ and I want to know what type of reaction to buy for heavier patterns

Arsenal: lucid, ?, frantic, t-road solid
I want control on heavier patterns vs the high performance bowling balls like the sync. Please compare all three based on pass experiences. Lastly, would the tropical heat hybrid fit with these group of bowling balls in terms of strength yet controlled? I don't see many reviews on the black and purple t heat, manic, or outlaw. I prefer one of these three. Thanks!
League: Pitch Purple, Destiny Magenta
Testing: MVP
Interests: Black Widow, Proof Solid, Idol Pearl

I'm sure those pieces are all good in their own right, but right now u can get a vr solid for like 80 bucks and that ball should do the trick.

I have thrown the VR Solid, the Outlaw and the older Heat Hybrid, the grey silver one, not the current Heat Hy.

I hated the VR solid.  Way too early for me.  The Heat Hybrid was just one big rainbow arc for me.  Never used it and sold it.

The Outlaw however is a very good ball.  I bowled a tourny on the USBC Blue pattern today.  I shot 251 and 255 using the Outlaw.  After two games I changed to my IQT Solid (shined) for the last two games.  This was not the right ball and had 201 and 205.  But my only other choices were Versa Max and Meanstreak.  These were both too lazy down lane.

You can find outlaws pretty cheap on EBAY.

I would also recommend the Outlaw.  It fits this spot perfectly in my arsenal when I need to have control on medium-heavy patterns and on wet/dry league shots.  If you can find one, get one.

The Disturbed would be the closest option if you are not able to find an Outlaw.  Similar cover strength and OOB finish, but completely different cores which make the Disturbed slightly stronger (maybe 1-3 boards).  But seriously, you should be able to find an Outlaw on eBay or even in the buy/sell forum on here.
