I'm seeing on FB Storm is discontinuing the Code X. Anyone in the know able to confirm this?

There's always rumors that people like to start just to rile people up, the Hyroad has been "getting discontinued" at least twice a year for the last 4 or 5. No idea until it actually happens.

Your response atleast slowed down my anxiety Luke haha.

I'd highly recommend bidding on a NIB on eBay while they pop up relatively cheap.

Quite possibly the best ball in a while for when they get cliffed.

How so and what do you recommend layout wise? I'm always looking for tips to striking more on the cliff lol.

I agree

My teammate averaged 208 for the 17/18 season using an Intense. For the 18/19 season he averaged 195 using the Code X. Same house/same shot. It did not make me want to invest in the Code X. Your mileage may vary.

Every time I bitch about my IQ Tour Solid, my storm staffer friend tells me to drill the Code X and watch the back row go out.

LOL, the last ball out of the Storm factory before Armageddon will be a Hyroad ;)

If you’re on anything remotely easy the IQ Tour has no business in the bag. And before some of ballreviews “finest†show up, no, averaging 207 on house “isn’t workingâ€.

Since it's unofficially officially confirmed now. I pulled the trigger on another with Buddies price drop to $139.95. Ordered a 2-3' pin, kinda of wondering if I should have gone 3-4" pin, but I don't think it'll matter.
Son!Q, Hyper Cell Fused, and Intense Fire all marked down on there too for disco.
-
Pin distances mean exactly zero now btw.

I wish more ball drillers understood this. I wasted close to $400 on 3 short pin x outs w/drilling. They all rolled terrible, pin high. Early and flat on 3 totally different balls. I looked into the inserts on one to discover he buried the fingers about 3 1/2" deep on all of the balls.
I'm not sure if it was incompetence, or their way of "teaching me a lesson for buying balls online". Either way I'll never go back there again. Between them and other shops in my area missing spans and pitches regularly, I'm at the point of paying buddies to drill and ship every new ball I get. They haven't missed spec for me yet.

I 100% get it on symmetrical pieces. I just questioned it on asymmetricals in ease of drilling with the pin and MB placement.

This include the fusion? Finally pulled trigger on one. Code X is a lot of ball for house shot.

LOL - Don't worry too much if the Code X is being discontinued. Radical has a ball on the approved list that looks just like it! The Guru Force. LMAO!
You might get hook, and a nice back end, but not the smell. LOL! Although I like some of their stuff too, Radical is at it again with copying Storm's color schemes. Dang! LOL!

You do realize that 'Radical' doesn't put out overseas releases from the company right? If its called the Guru Force, its an independent distributor paying to make a ball for their clientele. They pay Radical to pour whatever balls they want and put whatever name on them with any cover/core combo the client wants. They usually only do a 500-750 ball pour for overseas market. So if you really wanted to, pay to pour 500 balls you could call a ball manufacturer up and get a special ball made just for you. With whatever name, color, core/cover material you want.

If you hear rumors that a certain ball is on the way out, pay attention to what the big Internet sellers are doing with it. My experience is that they always know before staffers, and you’ll start seeing markdowns, pronouncements of “limited availability†for pins/weights, and other clear signs that the ball is being closed out.
It’s not that hard to read the tea leaves.

Soniq definitely deserves to hit the dusty trail. That ball was the Optimus Lite, pure dookie.

Never tried it, but was curious how it compared to the Code Black being the R2S Pearl and a very dominant weight block.

It was typically too much or never enough. The core just dominated the shell.

Code X, Intense Fire, Son!Q, and Hyper Cell Fused all listed as closeout on bowling.com

The Match Ups besides the newer one are listed on Buddies as well now. Makes me sad because the Black Pearl is making its way to my favorite of all time.
