COME ON STORM!!!!
« on: September 27, 2012, 11:39:48 PM »
Virtual energy released july 2009 and had major success. hyroad released oct 2008 and has had so much success that it is still being sold to this very day. frantic released in 2011 and has been tremendous success plus it won pete a few major titles......                 HYBRID, HYBRID, HYBRID!!!                     come on storm, put another premier line hybrid out on the market. the orIgin core never went hybrid, neither did the nano coverstocks, and now the mad core may not go hybrid either from what I have observed over the past THREE YEARS.. i MEAN COME ON. your loyal customers have been waiting long enough

You need to compete for something greater than just winning.

Me too, Evil.  I love my Virtual Energy and had such high hopes for an NRG Hybrid.

The critical theory is great. Almost made me 2nd guess getting the lucid until I decided to go with a completely different layout.  Great 1-2 for me.

PREMIER LINE HYBRID!!!! did you not read the post. I have the crossroads. It works just fine. by the way, the nano and nano pearl have a tremendous difference in them. If you cant notice a huge difference in the two your blind and throw end over end.......      I personally did not care for the nano coverstocks. I loved the shape lock core but i am glad they changed to the rad core.. I personally never had enough oil for the nano solid and the pearl had to much power at its breakpoint which is why i dont throw it unless on a 43+ foot shot.

Yes goofus i read the post! The Vivid, Lucid, Nano and Nano pearl are all in the Premier line! READ AND CHECK YOUR FACTS! And again, not enough separation between the the two Nanos to make a hybrid and the Lucid is just coming out. Otherwise they wouldnt have come out with Vivid they would have come out with a Virtual Gravity Nano Hybrid. Give it time, you might see one between the Lucid and Vivid as those two ball have a great deal of separationbut with the success of the crossroad, modern marvel and still having the hyroad i wouldnt get my hopes up in seeing one right now.

Actually, there was enough difference between the two Nanos to fill the gap...but Storm chose to put out the Vivid.  If you look on their site, the Vivid was released with the NRG solid cover and a different core to fill the void.  What I don't understand is why they chose another solid with a different core instead of going NRG hybrid with the Shape Lock core.  The Nanos are wildly successful while I haven't noticed many Vivid's at all...seems like they whiffed on the Vivid to me.  I think a Nano hybrid would have sold a ton...but what do I know...I'm just the consumer...

Yea i thought about doing that. From what i was told, the Lucid is a stronger up front than the Critical so i get the Critical, ill probably go longer pin on the lucid for more flare.

I think it was overall due to the massive cover strength with NRG technology.  as great as it was for many, it was seen as a problem also by many, and along the lines of the Invasion.

I think they made one last effort with the Vivid and hoped the raise in rg would tame down the NRG strength, which kinda explains why the Lucid doesn't have the NRG cover.

Assuming the Virtual Energy isn't dead and you have the right layout, you should love that ball.  My favorite Storm ball of all time.  As for the Critical Theory, I don't own one but think it's the best ball in the Theory series for RotoGrip based on what I've heard from the people who've thrown them.

I actually found the CT stronger midlane and the Lucid stronger backend.

What they should do to fix that would be to create two lines for asymmetric balls...one line would support the stronger asymmetrics and the other to support the weaker asymmetrics.  Afterall, they don't have a problem offering a buttload of bowling balls to choose from now do they?  LOL!

I agree to an extent. The Nano was a heavy oil ball and Pearl played right under that to pick up where you would leave off with the solid. No real reason for a hybrid. The Vivid was a more house shot usable bowling ball whereas the Nano Solid would burn up. I agree that they didnt sell as well as the Nano's but they did sell well, well enough to make a pearl and not change the design too much. The Lucid was made because Storm wanted what rotogrip has in the Critical Theory. I think their might be a hybrid in the making as the Vivid was really rolly and the Lucid is a good distance of separate from the two that i have seen. That was the point I was making. Most times with Storm, when you see a huge deal of separation between solid and pearl, then they seem to make the hybrid. Also they didnt follow suit with nano line like they did the virtual gravity. If you remember, the gravity shift came out first then the virtual gravity (i believe, forgive, its early). With the popularity and separation, out pops the Energy.

I also agree that the lucid was devised from the CT.
