companion ball for x-factor
« on: October 05, 2003, 03:48:48 AM »
Bought an X-Factor and am happy with results in light to medium oil.Would like to purchase a ball for heavier oil. Am considering the Deuce and Re-Loaded.Don't know enough about the Fear Factor yet.My line with the X-Factor is more arc than snap. Lefty, med speed, med revs, 200+ ave.Thans.

Obviously your X Factor isn't cutting it when it's getting wetter?  How heavy is the oil your'e seeing ??  What hook shape do you want ??

Out of the box the X-Factor barely moved on an alley that was just oiled(Neither would my old Columbia Boss). Took it home and wet sanded with 600 grit and polished with 600 and the next day it worked well on a freshly oiled lane using my normal line of standing 3 boards left of center and throwing to first arrow (I'm a lefty). 2 days later on my normal bowling night I had to move 6 boards left and angle in at 2nd arrow 608 but it was a struggle. They must have used more oil than normal because everyone struggled. The 2 balls I'm carrying have very similar lines and I would like to add something to my X-Factor that will hook more. I throw med speed (14.2) with med revs. More of an arc than a snap.

Either a Duece drilled to roll, put the mass bias towards your VAL, maybe pin under ring, or a Fear Factor drilled the same way...you should be good with either....

The Fear Factor is touted as Storm's biggest hooking ball yet, or so I've heard.  In any case, I'd say the new coverstock warrants more interest than the Deuce does, for me anyway.  It's your decision either way, but I'm pretty sure the Fear Factor is the better ball.

Cocky?  I'm not cocky.  I'm the proud owner of a 280-742 set with a White Dot.  So, who wants to touch me?  . . . . . . .  I SAID WHO WANTS TO F*#%!&G TOUCH ME?!?!

Man!  I'm like the white Larry Bird!
