Looking for something to compliment my NRP , thinking either Code Red or Code Black. Any input appreciated. Thank you

Imo, black will give you a similar shape, just less cover, and red will give you a smoother move. If you're bowling on a house shot, go black. Bowl on some sport shots, go red for control.

Thank you, Doom 😊

Pretty much sums it up.
I am curious what you were hoping to see out of the complimenting piece though? Shape, oil handling, etc compared to the NRP.

Looking for step down from NRP but w continuation...

Well, you'd have to drill either of them with a weaker mb placement to really get an symmetrical shape out of them. Are you looking for more angle or a smoother move? Hockey stick or banana, as they used to say lol.

Banana, probably 55 x 4 x 75 pin under ring

I don't honestly see either of them as much of a step down from the NRP as it can stay in place for quite some time. I would recommend something more like larger VAL angle Hy-Road Pearl.

Original date devil would a more appropriate step down, or the dd danger.

Alonzo,
I throw 16 and I have an original Hyroad drilled 55 x 3 1/4 x 45 and this ball is very over under for me. I was looking for something with a stronger core that will finish consistently. Have seen several guys in my league have success with both the Red and the Black but I do not believe any are throwing 16. As you know the diff on the Codes in 16 are not quite as high as the 15. Actually similar to the NRP, tad bit higher with a weaker cover. Does this logic make sense??? Thank you all :)

Over under is largely due to improper surface prep. Have you tried taking the surface down at all?

In terms of reaction shape, all 3 are different from our testing.
In terms of Shape:
Code Black is the most skid/flip
No Rules Pearl is a hard arc
Code Red is a smoother arc
In terms of strength:
NRP
Code Black
Code Red
It's all going to depend on what you bowl on. If it's your typical medium house shot, as others have alluded to, it might be tricky to consider either ball a step down from the NRP because you might step down to Code Black, only to find it cover more boards. Code Red might cover just slightly less boards but will be smoother so may be perceived as a step down. All 3 are asyms but the Code Black has the hardest asym set downlane, NRP next, and the Red last.

Thank you for all the great info. Would the Ink or Danger , or weaker drilled Marvel Pearl be a Good step down then? Thank you :)

in terms of reaction shape, I think the Dare Devil Danger would be a nice option. It’s symmetric and and has a midland read that might be recognizable from the No Rules Pearl shape. Ink would be a huge step down in ball reaction.
I think a Marvel Pearl could also be a good step down but you have to realize that it’s more about control so down lane will not be super punchy.
So if you want a step down with midlane, good punch and a continuous symmetric roll, I’d go with danger. If you want a step down with midlane, but more control move, marvel pearl. But if you don’t bowl on sport shots a lot, I’d go danger.
