Crux - is is still a good oil ball?
« on: March 23, 2019, 09:29:33 PM »
Just got an original Crux given to me from a guy at the local house.  It's in great shape, but I still did a full resurface and de-oiled it.  Though it's older, is it still considered a good ball for heavier oil nowadays, or what is it best suited for, and what kind lane play is best with it?

I used it on synthetics with super clean backends.

In the same air as the critical theory, modern marvel, sinister, and now physix....

Sanded hybrids and pearls are super useful.

If you're anything like me and dream of conditions where u can use a ball for 3 games without switching...I found this surface prep style ball very useful.

When starting with an assymetrical solid, I'd have a great look, only to lose the majority of my brackets and side pots come game three. After starting to use a sanded hybrid/pearl I had to kinda ease the ball into the pattern in game one, but I had game 2 and 3 without doubt.

Bust out the Crux!

Thanks for the info.  It's a good looking ball.  I put some grips in it last night (slightly too small, lol, but that's all I had), and plan on trying it out in our Monday night league.

Nope, it's a house salad killer!
The Future of Bowling: Bowling is a once-popular tavern game played with a heavy ball and ten pins.

Rubbing alcohol on a rag and jam the tag into the grips, with like a pen. It'll soften and open em up.
