Crux Prime vs. Gravity Evolve
« on: November 21, 2019, 06:57:10 PM »
Has anyone thrown the Crux Prime head to head against the Gravity Evolve?  They are very similar for me so I am looking for other opinions.

Total board coverage (reading the lane front to back) is about the same, they just get there a little differently. Evolve has a more defined shape off the spot while the Prime makes it's motion later and is more rounded.

I also find this to be the case imo; Tommygn, which ball in your opinion, do you feel has more versatility? I personally feel the Evolve does, but was wonder your thoughts?

I would say that depends on if you are speed dominate or rev dominate.

Speed dominate, go with the Evolve.

Rev dominate, go with the Prime.

A matched bowler, I would say you could go either ball, just depends on if you like a little more defined shape.

I would also add, that the Prime would, in general, will be a touch more forgiving on sport patterns, and Evolve a touch more forgiving on house shots.

All in all though, neither ball is overly angular, and either will work with the right layout if bowling on enough oil volume to get them through the heads. You can place the Mb closer to PAP on a Prime to make it stand up; as well as go further away from PAP with MB on an Evolve, to round the shape off some.
