Post by: lilpossum1 on October 16, 2014, 12:17:14 PM
How do these two compare? Opinions on the two?

Have both. The Sinister for me is slightly longer and much more continuous. It does "lane shine" quicker, I have both at light Abralon 2000 by hand. I think the Sinister can be used for longer periods of time and deeper on the lane than the Crux.

From my understanding, the Crux is 5/3 more than the Sinister. I thought the Sinister was strong damn. But then we are comparing strong ball to another strong ball and the Guru and Intellect are even stronger....... Where are bbt hey finding the oil for this mess......

My house some nights. Some nights, the oil is so bad with carry down that I have to use my mastermind as a oil soaker and play up the 10 with my only other right handed teammate throwing a Hell Raiser Revenge to even get any recovery later in the night. Anyway, these two balls are the two I am tossing up the most for when I switch to left handed this summer. I want a strong hybrid I think.

Definitely agree here.

What would you guys think the "better ball" is?

Hard to say, "better" is relative. If forced to choose one, Id go with the Sinister.

"better ball"

Define this for us.

I understand better is relative. I meant that if you had to live or die by one ball, what your choice would be. Or if there is another asymmetric hybrid you would choose, what would it be?

Virtual Energy if I had to live or die by one.

I recently got a Crux and I agree with northface's post that the Sinister is slightly longer and that it acquires "lane shine" quickly. The biggest difference for me is the backend reaction; even though I had both set to 2000 surface with similar layouts, I felt the Crux gripped the lane more and charged to the pocket. I leave a fair amount of ringing 10's with the Sinister, but my carry with the Crux has been phenomenal...I have never seen so many messengers and the 6-snapping-out-the-10 in my life.

However, both play an important role in my bag and are keepers. The Crux is my new first ball out of the bag and the Sinister I can use for longer periods of time while maintaining that strong backend on heavier patterns.
