Has anyone thrown both of these balls?
-
The specs and many ball reviews indicate two very different balls intended for different purposes.
Any special reason for the request for more details specific to these two balls???

I recently bought The Thing and am considering a Deuce. I want to get a strong reactive and the Deuce seems to fit the bill, just don't want to end up with a ball that is similar to The Thing.
I have read all the reviews on both as well as checked out the specs, and I agree that they are supposed to be two different balls, but I also find my Thing to be quite a bit of ball (4.5 x 3.5 layout box condition). Just was hoping someone had thrown both and could give me a good idea how different the two really are.

While I have not thrown a Deuce, and I agree that the Thing, can be quite a bll, especially with a 10:30 drilling like that, I would have been more inclined to go with a DT Element. However, many people have had a lot of success with the Deuce. If you are comfortable with that drilling, the Deuce is a logical step up from the Thing with a small bit of overlap; I'd suggest a very similar drilling on the Deuce will keep it, as th enext logical step up from the Thing.
Once minor item is that the Deuce usually comes 1000 matte while the Thing comes polished. As a dull ball, for more oil, take care of that dull surface in order to avoid premature death. If your Deuce comes polished, there will be more overlap, in my opinion; I think you should probably dull it, if only slightly.
good luck.

Charlest,
Thanks for your thoughts-I had considered the element more times than I can count, but have the opportunity to buy the Deuce for a price that is too good to pass up.
