Dimension solid

I re-drilled a Dimension for one of my guys this week, and I wanted to chat real quick about the reaction difference we got out of it.

The oringal drill was 4 x 3 with a low hole, box finish.  We were going for a controlled arc.  He's a big guy, throws it about 18-19 MPH and rev rate at about 450, about 20-30 axis rotation, so he is still behind it some at the bottom.

The first drill, without alot of oil, pretty much burned up and stopped.  We tried adjusting the surface and still no dice, it would never face up to the hole.  Finally got around to plugging it, and tried a different layout.

New one is 4 1/2 x 4, pin above, and I took the cover to 2000 with polish, and its a whole new ball.  It gets through the fronts and reads the midlane very well with tons of recovery, and a big smooth backend reaction.  He loves it, and it fills a gap in his bag now.  It is still earlier and more overall than his similarly drilled HyRoad, but his Street Rod Solid (with more aggressive layout and surface prep) is still earlier than the Dimension.

I guess that is a testament to the R2X cover and its versatilty, and the overall versatility of this core/cover combo.  I got two HUGELY different reactions out of this ball.  If you have a Dimension that you don't particularly care for or can't throw much, try shining it...it will open your eyes!
