EOX & R2S
« on: June 28, 2007, 02:17:00 AM »

To those who are throwing the new R2S stuff, now you have seen it featured in several different ball reactions.  What do you think about it compared to EOX?

R2S, IMO, is stronger, more durable than EOX.

Fluff,

If you are asking for a reaction comparison EOX has more traction in oil than R2S - but R2S has a stronger move off of dry.

The best cover comparison I can give (I know - they are not the same core and the box finish is a bit different) is the Special Agent and the Passion.  From a cover comparison standpoint the Passion definately grabs the lane and gets into its roll earlier but once they hit the dry the Special will move more.

I guess I am mainly wondering if they are going to keep EOX around.  People still like the Passion for their heavy oiling needs.

Fluff,
That may be true. But remember the Passion is at i believe 500 grit. While the Special is at 4000. That is a big difference. I am sure if you take down a SPecial to around 500 grit it would react very similar.

A Special at 500 hooks MORE than a Passion at 500. R2S is a much stronger cover than EOX.

I thought EOX was more expensive to make, that's one reason the Paradigms were more expensive than the current high-end X-factors.

Actually the Special comes out of the box at 2000. The Secret is coming out at 4000. My opinion is the Special is more continuous than the the Passion was thru the pin deck.

Thanks BigMike. I couldn't remember off hand if the Special was 2000 or 4000.

I too found that interesting especially when they released the Domination, which only had the reactor yet was at the Paradigm price point rather than the x factor cost.  They are finally releasing durable equipment and the reactor and R2S seem to be solid covers.

I remember that, and there was quite the ruckus over it, too.  I think the whole thing was a ploy to move prices up.  They could have the high-end Agents with symmetric cores, then a higher-end Paradigm line with asymmetric cores.  Maybe the combination of Reactor and the more expensive asymmetric core are what pushes it up in price, that while they were putting Monsoon and Accutread on the asymmetric cores, they could get away with lower prices due to the reduced prices of the coverstocks.

Who knows?  Just some speculation.

i know these are diferent balls but i have a paradigm and HAD a shift and both drilled real simular and the paradigm when it hit the dry screamed around the corner and demolished the pocket but the shift just never did much of anything impressive at all so i sway towards the eox i also have a passion that is a monster! both were bought when they first came out and both look like new still no cracks or anything normal lanes scratches anyway done rambling!!

Haven't thrown R2S yet but I've thrown every other Storm coverstock; the EOX is, to me, noticeably stronger than anything else. I've seen Paradigms make moves in soup that a pearl ball just shouldn't be able to make.

I'm knocking on wood that my two continue to be reliable and don't crack, because I'd cry.

The EOX is ludicrous. I have only the EOX and the original Reactor...the EOX eats oil like there's no tomorrow man. The flares are HUGE on my Passion, but I find that I have to clean it a ton more often than my sanded down Pyro. And my Reactor is a bit over/under to speed changes...but that might be because lately I've been bowling on tough conditions.
