Ball and surfaces for Reno
« on: May 26, 2016, 11:01:08 AM »
Leaving soon for the USBC s .  Taking 5 balls. 1 is my Ride which I love for spares. The other 4 are :  Lock at 1000   IQ Nano also at 1000   IQ Tour 2000 and a Hyroad at 4000  I have heard from many people surface is the key. Practiced on the Dbls and Singles pattern last night.  Extremely tough. Anything cut short is a miss of the headpin left. Anything missed right is a wash out or worse. Not only do you have to hit your mark, your speed has to be consistent and your release clean. Wondering what other bowlers who already have bowled in Reno thought of the shot. Hopefully the approaches are not tacky like last year in El Paso. There is enough to worry about without having to worry about sticky approaches. Also wondering if anybody used the above mentioned balls out there. Thanks .

the IQs are always a good idea on flatter patterns. even if you cant use it during the set that lock with a bunch of surface will do a good job burning an area in practice especially if your teammates are doing the same making the pattern not so touchy. without knowing anything about your game or what area of the lane youre playing in practice that arsenal sounds good and logical. i would bring some abralon and use as needed based on what you see in the practice session and warmups. i will say this though, for most people the lanes play slicker at the stadium than when you put out the patterns at home just because the lane surfaces are newer than most centers so i wouldnt be worried about having TOO MUCH surface.but like i said those balls sound good to me unless youre really rev dominant.
