dry lanes and storm jolt = good/bad idea?

i am in need of a good tame light oil/dry lane ball that really is for dry lanes. i have stuff thats been reviewed as "light oil balls" but hook the whole lane. i was thinking about getting the jolt and having it drilled useing layout #4 on the storm drill sheet. i am a high rev, medium ball speed, low track player. how does this ball rev up and react???

Jolt Solid or Jolt Pearl?

The pearl might be a good idea, because it gets more length, and has a good backend motion. The Solid is a step above the pearl, handling lighter mediums.

If you are looking for a true dry lane ball from Storm, get a Tropical Storm.

I heard from a few people that the jolt solid was basically a pure hammer(the most recent one discontinued) a reactive ball that reacted like a urethane. Just a little bit more on the backends of course... But I was skeptical...

the jolt solid is the one i was looking at. want something thats going to hit,carry well,be predictable, and somewhat versitle. i thought the solid would be more of an even arc then the pearl. out of 9 balls i dont really have a good arcing ball for the drier light conditions.

If you look for control, the solid one is IMHO the way to go. You might have to adjust the surface to your needs, but it will be the better choice when the back end is not that great. The pearl one handles less oil, but might be prone to suffer from carrydown. Not a true "edgy" ball, but tad sharper than the solid one.

I'd not call any of the Jolts a dry lane ball. Rather options for light conditions (just like the Pure Hammer), and es great choices for the rev-challenged.

thanks for all the input. for bone dry lanes i think im going to use my clear diamond lane #1, although the power groove dry would be nice, i don't have room for it. i am getting a used jolt solid drilled for shorter patterns and will play with the cover some if i have to for it to truly handle shorter oil patterns. i think thats been my struggle lately is everything i have is too aggressive. even on a freshly oiled lane im having to play pretty far left and deep. so this ball with the weak drilling on it might work out.

The Hot Rod Hybrid is better than Jolt Pearl on dry lanes. I have both balls
shot 300 with Hot Rod Hybrid on 3/14. I have a 9 ball Arsenal all Storm balls
use my Jolt Pearl the most on house shots. Both are worth every Penny.

Short Patterns: I use my Pyro so does Jeff Carter we both bowl in the Midwest Region

out of the hybrid,pyro, and jolt, which one would u consider to be more versatile and have better carry?

All three balls carry very well.
If I had to pic one the Jolt Pearl.
The Hybrid gets down the lane better than the Jolt.
The Jolt Pearl is stronger than most people think it needs some oil.
The Jolt has the same coverstock as the Ace ACCU.
The Hybrid needs light oil will forgive you more downlane right or left of   your target. The Pyro needs more oil up front than both balls it's
particle. The Pyro is still real clean through the front.

For you I would pic the Hot Rod Hybrid

Need any more help or info just ask be glad to help.
