So, many have said the Original X Factor may well be one the very best modern Storm balls; well I have a NIB 14lb sitting at home for almost 4 weeks now, with 3 inch pin, undrilled.

This is my second Original X Factor, the first one I hated it, but I think (I hope) the main problem with that is it has a 0.5 inch pin, and I don't like pin-in ball.

Since THAT ball, it's really put me off from buying Storm. (See my profile)

Secretly, I really want my 3-inch-pin-X-Factor to work. I remember watching PDW, Randy Pedersen, Ryan Shafer throwing the ball on shows and winning, it was THE ball to have in 2003. My friend (a leftie) has one, and the ball really moves at the backend, giving you a textbook skid/snap look.

I am afraid to have it drilled, I am afraid that I'd be disappointed again and that would put me off from buying Storm FOREVER. You know it's like when you meeting you childhood hero for the first time and you don't know what to expect?!? And you are afriad that your 'hero' may be a complete jerk in real life?!? That's how I feel. It is Charlie Brown meeting Joe Schlabotnik.

Well Storm fans, wish me luck.

No worry, drill it up. I am ready to drill my
second one up ! This one is a new in box 15
pounder with a 3 inch pin and a 3.25 top. This
ball will still outperform most of the new stuff
today, and have no doubt it will.

Drill it up !

Here is a Storm Question for the Storm Knowledgable types here..

I recently drilled up a Depth Charge....layout is about 4 X 4..no weight hole and box condition.  I absolutely love this ball and was wondering what would be suggestions to go one up and one down so to speak.  Depth Charge handles anything from Med-Heavy to Dry-light Med....so looking for something to be a little stronger in big oil...and something to be a little weaker for drier stuff. Have always had problems with over/under with Storm and have avoided them for a while....but the Depth Charge has changed my position on this.

For the Big Oil ball..don't like early....like strong midline and backend...Early doesn't usually work out for me due to release/tilt...

For Drier...Have a Sonic Boom that is for fried.....looking for something inbetween that an the Depth Charge...something with good lenght..and not too strong off the breakpoint...

Thanks for all the help!

Mike

hey guys help me set up an arsenal of Storm.

Right now i can gte my hands on an Xone drilled 4x4 other drilled pin under ring) and also a duece(which im waiting for more info on) and i can get a flash point drill label.

Those r the balls i can get used but i will also buy new ones for my arsenal.

Stats r in pfile, but i want the balls to be mid lane(alot or a little) with some back end,as in arc,no snap or nothing. Bob7 told me to keep pins around 4 inch and cg around 3inch and for low rg balls but pin above line and higher below line.(meaning the line going from pap to grips)

SO tell me what u think abotu the balls i can get and what other ones, also include drill patterns.

IF this in confusing, im very tired.

For Charlie Brown.

One thing about the X factor it CAN disappoint.  If flying backends are a happening at your house it is a nice fit on lighter medium if drilled medium weak.

But if a snappy backend is what you need the Triple XXX is the answer.

The X factor smooths for a pearl the XXX Factor snaps like hell!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS not available any more but I love my Hot Wire in that spot below medium above dry.  It carries the world.

mmmmmmMMMMMMMMM, this is strange. I've always thought that X Factor is snapper than XXX, and XXX turns earlier than X Factor. (from the charts on Storm site)

And as I said my leftie friend's X Factor sure does have backend! He throws a tiny bit slower than me, and we have similar amount of 'hand'. Guess left side is easier huh!!!  Kidding!

Still haven't drilled my second though, saving it for rainy days!

Thanks LuckyLefty and everyone else!

I would say medium-heavy to medium

no way, i woudl say med at most, i thought the recharge would handle some more then med but nope not till i dulled it an dplus it has a aggresive drill.

But liek i said i can get a xxx, i have 2 to choose from. one drilled 4x4 one drilled pin under ring. i want to get the pin under ring one i think for med plus some carry down since its pin under. and liek i said i dotn want snappy.

What balls could i build around that?
