Title: Fagan a free agent
Post by: 9orbetter on April 26, 2013, 08:42:16 PM
Watching the Insidebowling.com livestream and he is using an IQ Tour solid. What happened at EBI. hmmmmm. I remember when he was younger bowling in a summer league, his favorite ball was the original Eraser

I asked this on the Track web site forum.
Let's see what response I get.

It's been a bit of a while since he has thrown Storm. Saw him with the Virtual Gravity in Columbus a few years ago. Granted he makes everything look good, I wonder what we might see him throwing in the future.

I'm just not as interested in this as I used to be... it's like worrying if your mechanic uses Snap On or Craftsman tools. Ultimately both get the job done.

No reply yet on the Track forum, but Michael is still listed as a member of Track staff on their web site:

He's holding his opponents ball from an action match he had last week overseas. There is a YouTube clip of the match if you search "A day with Michael Fagan".  And yes, Fagan is still throwing track.

Although new Track staffers Dan Maclelland, Mika (not new but now Track-only) and Jesse Buss haven't been added, which implies the staff page hasn't been updated in a while.

I always follow Fagan's performances, because I also use the Sarge Easter grip. Hard to see why he would part with Track; their equipment has been great, lately.

What from what I've heard (wink wink) I believe before the end of this week there may be an announcement in regards to this....but as of right now, he is a free 'agent'.

Fagan is big buddies with Belmo. This might be a factor.

That would not surprise me if it was a factor.  They've been great friends for a long time.

Add in the fact that EBI is no longer allowing 4 brand contracts and you have their staffers moving all over the place to a single brand or potentially jumping ship altogether.  Perfect example: Mika Koivuniemi has the Mission $250k named after his huge win, but he signed with Track.   Then Tommy Jones switching to Hammer from Ebonite is huge because Kelly Kulick is the only PBA staffer left for that brand.  Or Dan MacLelland switching from C300 to Track, which leaves Chris Barnes as the only men's PBA staffer left there.

It may have just been time for Fagan to look at other options with all the changes going on over there.  He would make a hell of a staffer for Storm if he goes over there, being the 12th on their national team.

It's weird reading people's reactions to his new signing. Some Track fans complaining because they bought the 811 or 508 because he threw them, and now, who are they going to look up to?
I don't really like Storm, but I like Fagan, and I hope he finds success.

I know Tommy Jones was really loving throwing Track during the week, but (by contract) had to throw Ebonite on TV. I would have rather seen him go with Track instead of Hammer, but I like to see Major Mika with Track. He makes their balls look REALLY good. (but I think he could strike with anything round haha)

Rico, +1000. If I bought bowling balls because of how a pro scored with them, I would either have every bowling ball out there, or wouldn't be bowling at all.

Why?

Because I don't throw it like them. :P

It is funny how people get all up in arms because a PBA pro changed "teams".  Storm/Roto's staff is pretty tough to beat though.

PDW, Duke, Belmo, Wes, Szczerbinski, Osku, Barrett, Rhino, Gomez, Beef Stu, Asbaty, and now Fagan!  (yes i realize there are a few more, but you get the point)
