Fast surface

I have a fast drilled 5" from my PAP, pin over bridge. I find that at it's OOB surface, it's too over/under. Has anyone taken the polish off of theirs and put on your own polish? Thinking of taking it down to 2000 and adding Snake Oil. Thoughts?

I hit mine with a 2000 ab pad, loved the reaction afterwards.. really brought the piece to life
