favorite drills for x-factor

Ok all, i've finally made my decision and just purchased an original X-factor. I'm so anxious to try this out. I've been reading reviews about people having problems with finding the correct drill pattern for this ball since it's assyemetrical. I typically bowl in a house with med-long oil patterns. Tweener with average speed. Any suggestions?

With people having trouble with it, why in the world did you buy one?

From what I hear, the XXX Factor is one of the better balls if not the best ever produced by Storm. My Pro Shop guy is an Ebonite and Hammer Fan and likes no other brand. Well at other peoples urging, he drilled himself up a XXX Factor and declared "Man o Man, that's the hardest hitting ball I've ever had. Wow, when that thing hits, it hits."....and this quote came from an Anti-Storm bowler.

The reason I purchased was simple, I've also heard that once you get the correct drill pattern for this ball to suit your style and lane conditions, it's unstoppable and very versatile...Hence the reason for this post.

LOL...Humble, I can't call it unstoppable as I had one and it "never got started."

Humble -

Mine is drilled similarly to Knuckles -- I believe it's drill #2 from the sheet.  This ball does go long and angles very hard to the pocket.  On longer patterns, it sometimes has trouble making it back to the pocket, but I found out this week that slowing the ball down a little will have it back in the pocket with no troubles.  What I thought was going to be a "condition specific" ball has turned into my "go to" ball for the THS.

I used something similar to Layout #1 on mine.  The pin is pretty much on my gripline above my fingers and the RAD is JUST to the right of my thumb.  To combat any under/over conditions I hit the ball with a grey scotchbrite before I ever threw it.  I did this after watching some of my customers enjoy their X's after the polish started to wear out from use.

Thank you all for the suggestions, even more are welcomed! I've been looking on storm's website and their recommended drills for the X-factor. Here's what I narrowed it down to: "Layout 2B & Layout #4" The description for Layout 4 says "it's great for strokers and tweeners..." Is Layout #4 considered stacked leverage? I've heard that layout is the strongest drilling for any ball.

Yes...putting the pin 3-3/8th's from your PAP is the most flaring / unbalanced position you can stick the core at.  I don't get why the drill sheets still reference putting the pin and CG the same distance from your PAP...this shouldn't matter on a Assymetrical ball as the MB, or RAD in this case, is the secondary drilling factor.  The CG on this type of ball is a "weight hole indicator."  So I would stack the RAD and Pin and let the CG fall where it may.
