Fever pitch drilling advice!
« on: March 05, 2019, 03:56:20 PM »
What would be the best layout for this ball? Was thinking of going with an aggressive drilling say 4x4x1. I know the urethanes are real tame, so was thinking this would be a good drilling for the fever pitch. My specs are pap 5 3/8 over up 7/8, tilt 15 degrees, 14 mph ball speed, rev rate 320. For you urethane guys out there. How are you drilling yours? Has anyone went with aggressive drills on their fever pitch, or other urethanes with success?

On my Purple Hammer driller talked me into pin above middle finger (righty, CG was near palm IIRC, edit: yep urethane label dead middle of grip) which with my high tilt worked like a champ and helped get the ball down the lane.  Urethane in general tends to be very early and is largely done hooking by the back end (sorry if master of obvious).

Just to give an update on my post, and a review. Drilled the fever pitch tonight. Went strong, 4 inch pin by 1 1/2  from my Val puts the pin way up high and to right of my ring finger, (righty) Cg 2 inches right, but that doesn’t matter since it’s symmetrical and mb ends up in thumb anyway. Well threw it on the fresh wet dry house pattern. Ball is freaking amazing. Smooth with just enough pop on the backend to carry well. Lot of people comparing it to the purple hammer. They’re real close. I would say the fever pitch is a touch stronger on the backend. With just a touch more flare. I was getting 3 inches flare with this drill. For all you storm guys on this site. This is a must have. This will be a great ball for me on the wet dry house shot, or short tournament patterns. Storm has a winner with this one.
