BARBED WIRE
« on: March 03, 2007, 05:27:53 AM »
IN MY OWN OPINION THE BARBED WIRE IS ONE OF THE BEST "HOUSE CONDITION BALLS" EVER MADE NICE AND PREDICTABLE, MINE ROLLS SMOOTH IN THE MIDLANE  ANY BODY ELSE AGREE WITH WHAT I HAVE STATED ABOVE... PLEASE LET ME KNOW

BUT I HAVE ABOUT 800 GAMES ON MINE.  I TRY NOT TO RESURFACE EQUIPMENT IF AT ALL POSSIBLE

Well, everyone's style is conducive to what works best in their house.  I've had my BW for 3 seasons now.  I got it with the intention to use when the lanes were fried.  Sometimes I'll just take it out when I'm puking and can't find anything.

However, the night I got my one and only 300 I used this ball.  I never would have thought when I got mine it would be with that ball.  Oh well.  I can never get rid of it now!!  LOL

YES...IT IS ONE OF THOSE BALLS YOU LOOK AT AND GO WOW, WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT FOR PAYING 75 TO 90 DOLLARS YOU CAN GET A BALL LIKE THAT TO WORK OUT... IN OUR PROSHOP  THAT IS PRETTY MUCH WHAT I RECOMMEND FOR OUR HOUSE SHOT... 40 FT.  HEADS HAVE A LITTLE UNDER 700 ML IN THE MIDDLES SO IT IS PRETTY DRY TO BEGIN WITH... THEN YOU FACTOR IN  A COUPLE SECOND SQUADS AND THEN THE SHOT IS BURNT UP.. ROLLS GREAT... IM GONNA GO OUT ON A LIMB HERE AND SAY THIS BALL ROLLS VERY SIMILAR TO A URETHANE BLUE HAMMER FOR ME.. MAYBE A LITTLE MORE LENGTH  BUT A SIMILAR MOVE TO THE PINS

ONLY PROBLEM IS, THEY ARE DISCONTINUED AND CAN NEVER FIND THE THINGS... THANK GOD I HAVE 4 OF THEM UNDRILLED IN MY BASEMENT STILL  LOL

Jesus, what are you talking about?  700 ML of oil can oil a 48 lane center for 2 leagues.

40 units is considered heavier oil and you mean to tell me your place is putting out 700?  Just ask the laneman what's really going on, your guess is way out of the ballpark.

One of the guys in our mixed league has thrown 800's the last three times using a Barbed Wire.  I think he is over 250 in average after the last session.  I don't know if I have ever seen a ball matched so perfectly to a lane condition.  The shot is bone dry outside of about the 7 board.  All one has to do is feed it out with a little speed and hope it carries.  His ball reads the pattern perfectly, like refuse said, super smooth in the mid-lane and arcs nicely into the pocket.  Had been doing pretty well using his Passion the first part of the season, but grabbed the Barbed Wire out of the closet when he noticed how well the straight bowlers were scoring playing up the outsides.  Seemed to be the right decision....LOL.
