Pins too close to the grip holes. This voids the warranty. They'll replace it anyway, but realize that they really don't have to.

That crack has nothing to do with drilling to close to the pin. That is due to weather. If it were a crack from the hole to the pin that is due to being to close to the pin. But a crack won't go past the pin unless it is due to weather.. Hope he can get it replaced for you
-
I think 95% of the bowling balls I've seen, have the finger holes drilled within a 1/4-1/2 inch to the pin.
If Storm doesn't replace the ball, just switch over to Lane1. They are famous for their no-bs/awesome customer service.

He kept them inside. Not weather. I've seen several ball crack drilling this close to the pin. Extra bevel probably would've helped. Where does the crack end? It doesn't show in the pictures.

I've had a ball from just about every maufacture crack on me. The record was 5 games on a Smash Zone, then cracked. RIP:
Apex Obsession (ebonite)
Victory SPT (AMF)
Radical Inferno (Bruns)
Smash Zone (Bruns)
Truimph TNT (AMF)
Tropical Storm (Storm)

Im going to disagree with both the weather and to close to finger. Guy that drills around here received a Tropical Storm straight from the distributor that looked the same way but had 2 separate cracks around the ball, you can actually pull the piece off and look at the core.

several things can lead to that crack i've had a ball crack while drilling it, ive had them crack setting on the display. seen it from all the companies global was the worst along with columbia. but not to slam any companies storm and hammer have been the most recent cracks i've seen.
-
they all crack. manufacturers have said it many times that, when a bowling ball is made with a mixture of reactive materials the reaction is very violent and the ball cures so fast that it can cause the cover to be brittle and crack.
think about it. its a very porous material.
seen every single companies balls crack. it happens. say a prayer and give the ball back to the gods that made it.
this is why I always buy from my pro shop. if it cracks ill just take it back (even though its a 45 minute drive each way)

I have to agree with Kate31 about the urethane coverstocks! I have bowlers in our center that are still using the original AMF Angle, U-Dot's, and original Hammer's!

I've only had two balls crack on me.. both were gamebreakers.

you guys are way off topic. But thanks for your opinion and input. The fast was the ball that crack. I took it back to the proshop and he let me replace it with the natural.
