Title: Fusion problems
Post by: Joker-1 on December 24, 2014, 10:55:42 AM
In the beginning really loved fusion and got back into storm a bit after not liking the brand for a long time. But lately the ball is just so over under and avg is going down from not being able to control. Looking for a ball or maybe a surface change that might help with this over under.

The first thing to try with over/under is taking the polish off, maybe take it to 3000/4000 abralon

How many games does the ball have on it roughly?
Are you experiencing similar problems with any of your other equipment?
Has the shot changed that you bowl on? Have others mentioned similar issues?

I average 182 at one house and 210 at another with mine and I am typically a 192 ave.

It's quite clear that it acts like what you have mentioned at my low house which is AMF Syn. 39-40" drier heads, snappy backends and sometimes OB right.

At the other, Brunswick Syn. About the same length, but the ball gets down the lane much cleaner and stores energy and wheels to the pocket like many THS do.

I scuffed mine with a 4000 pad

I might try the 4000. I never seemed to have any issues with my other brand equipment, but more often i have issues with storm being too over under

If the ball doesnt have very many games then it is not in need of cleaning. I would consider going lower in grit like 500/2000.

The factory finish on polished balls is so over under, its crazy.  Put some games on that ball! After about 10 games its perfect, length, flip with control!

If you had oil taken out did they repolish the ball?

Maybe they polished it too much????
Dull rarely leads to over/under, whereas too much polish usually does.

My thoughts exactly.
