Shift on lighter oil
« on: March 23, 2007, 02:53:40 PM »
Just curious how this ball has worked on house shots and then how well it handles the transitions? Mine will be ready for my next league night and since it wont have many games on it i was wondering what to expect?

Ive got a shift and when the lanes start to transition the ball really holds its own...The ball gets through the heads easily and then it tears up the backends even with a lot of carrydown

Good news for me then. I have a lot of hand rotation and drilled it to go longer than anything i currently own. But its good to know it will handle carry down. What about when the backs start to dry a bit??? We usually have a problem with that into our second game.

For me, the Shift is very responsive to user adjustments.  If the backends dry out too much and it overhooks, just put a little more speed on it or take your hand out of it somewhat and you'll be ok.  However, depending on how light your shot is, you may want to put it in the bag and look for something else.  Make no mistake, the Shift is a strong bowling ball, which leads me to ask why you got it for a light oil shot.  I think a Thunderstruck Pearl or Jolt Pearl would have been a better ball for said conditions.

My league shot is actually pretty well oiled but the roll offs for our leagues top six teams means ill have to bowl on lanes that at the end will have had five games bowled on them. Just wanted to know how long i would be able to use it before pulling out another ball below it...

You mean 1.5" right? You just added the circumference of the ball to your pin pap length.

Why would anyone throw a 250 dollar ball on light oil? Get a jolt.

As i said before i did not get it for dry lanes. However, the lanes on our roll off day will go through five games with four man teams so i wanted to know how the shift handled the transitions...
