rico a 2nd
« on: September 29, 2009, 06:03:19 AM »
this is not a what is rico thread so please bare with me

ive put this drilling on quite a few balls but this one has got me a little confused.

usually i get a pretty quick reving ball but with a very smooth reaction that really gives me the ultimate benchmark reaction but not so with this ball

this ball just does nothing idk if its rolling out or what not but just a quick question to anyone who has put this layout on this ball
did any of you put a different surface prep or what lanes do u usually use this on because lke i said prior i used this as my bench mark reaction but this ball just isnt rolling correctly

also if anyone has some vid footage that i can see it roll for u that would be awesome as well

my stats incase u need them

pap 5-0 up or down
rev - 350
speed 16-18

Flush:

I have this in a 2nd that I just got rid of only due to a major grip fit change I was making and didn't want to go through the time/effort to work on it.  It ALWAYS worked best with 2000 on it so that it stayed smooth throughout and didn't over skid in oil and over jerk down lane from the shiny cover.  Threw it on a 25.3mL pattern on Anvilane in January with no issue getting it to hook.  I found the key was putting the x-hole in the PSA to boost the differential in the ball.

So you did a pin in the palm Second Dimension and it does not react? That is weird! I have a 2D that is similar to a pin in the palm that rolls like butter! Very even, versus my first 2D that I tossed the pin over the fingers with the cg kicked and a weight hole. The first snapped off of the dry but when it had the look it was G-double O-D!

steve

ok i will try 2000 again and thats also what i did i threw the x hole 6 3/4 from the pin through the cg where the theoretical mb would be to do that increase the ball differential..

mr straight ball.. your telling me this is the first time this layout has givin me any problems and for sure i didnt thnk it would on a ball like this

thanks for input.. i guess ill give this ball one or two more practice sessions to try to dial it in before going to the extreme and just redrilling it again or selling it

Flush:

If you're a medium rev rate guy with 16-17 MPH you might have to go to 1000 to get it to start up soon enough.

so tried the ball out again and i sanded it to 1000 and i guess the shot was just wierd the first day i shot on it

today ball started up really well and just seemed to steam out by the time it hit the pocket so i pulled out the abralon and brought it up to 2000 by hand and seemed to get the ball to conserve a little more energy then the 1000

thanks for the input all esp steve for the suggestion this ball hits the pocket and drives straight through the pocket and doesnt quit
