Info on some low-end pieces

I''m looking for at something that will be weaker than my reign but stronger than the natural.  Reign is drilled 5 1/4 pin above the fingers, left oob finish w/ no hole.  Natural has the same layout, but a shifted cg and a hole on my axis.

Looking for a good amount of length/backend on medium-medium light oil.  Balls that I''m considering are the fast, tropical hybrid and the dark star.  Going by the core numbers, the fast and the hybrid have the same core, but the hybrid has a weaker cover base but its also a hybrid, some i''m unsure of how close the balls are.  The dark star has a similar core, little higher diff/rg, but i''m unsure of the cover strength b/c I''ve never used a roto ball other than the cell.

So can anyone explain how these balls compare or layout advice?  Thanks a bunch.  Stats in profile.

I would say a Fast with a long pin to PAP or even one of the new Heat's.  Two of the Heat's are pearl covers, but the dark purple one is a hybrid. The Fast isn't going to go as long as the Heat's will, but it will handle carrydown a little easier because of the stronger cover.  The Dark Star is Roto Grips version of the Fast.  I would go with a Heat but which one?  The pearl Heat is going to have more skid/flip while the hybrid is going to be a little smoother with a little less backend.  The

Thought I'd mention I do have a hy-road that I drilled 6" from my pap below the middle finger, but its a ball I only use on cheetah.  Its not strong at all, but really early/smooth and lets me play up the lane much more than the reign.  I was looking for one of these balls to be much stronger downlane, maybe similar overall hook, but something that would help me get much further left.

The Fast will be weaker then the Reign with the same layout.  I have both with a 4 1/2 x 4 pin up layout and the Fast is about 2 foot longer and 4 boards weaker on the back then the Reign. I don't use my Heat much unless the heads are fried, but it's about 3 boards weaker then the Fast.

I find the Dark Star to be much stronger in the back than I initially anticipated based on the specs on it.  May I suggest a Mars?  The one that I have is drilled 90* 5 3/4" 30*.  Even with my speed/rev rate, I'm still able to play on top of the dry and relatively straight.  

I don't know 1st hand about the heats.  I have a Fast which would be a good ball to use on a fresh pattern, but would switch to the DS, then to the Mars, and then the Natural as more of a dry spot develops.

well i had my pro shop guy order a fast and a hybrid heat.  I asked him to try and get 3" pins so I could use just about any layout I want, any suggestions?

I''ve the Hybrid Heat and really love it!  I''ve witnessed the Pearl Heat and found the Hybrid Heat to be stronger ''overall''.  Not nearly as jumpy as the pearl.  Reactor cover is very strong.  Drilled with pin above ring (bout 4 5/8 give or take - to PAP) with cg bout 1 1/2" right.

It''ll be more than the Natural (I have the Natural) and surprisingly more than the Fast (because the fast is a pearl).  Think you''ll like it very much!
