Rolls great, no problems here, maintains continuation when moving in as well. Unheard of from a strong assymetrical ball for me.

only 12 games on mine, but rolling and scoring very well.  north of 220 for the four sets in 2 different houses.  240 on synthetics.  very happy just need to know when to put it away at the wood house.

I've only got to throw it 6 games so far. When this ball makes its move, it seems to pick up speed and just go into a hard roll. Very strong and responds well to hand/ wrist adjustments and surface changes which is what I look for in a ball. I'll update when I throw it some more, but I'm already thinking about buying another and drilling it another way.

Totally agree - out of box it keeps its surface without changing - it's a monster!

Absolutely. I'm afraid to try it polished. At box finish, it was hard to control at the house I bowl most of the time, but I loved the reaction. If I get another I want to try a pin down drill just to see what she will do. May have to make a road trip to try at some different houses. Definitely a keeper for me.

If you punch up another one, please post what happens. As soon as I threw it in warm up I was hooked and thought about another one also. The only thing is in oil, you have move quick or ball down after about 2 games.

Will do. Probably in a couple weeks, when I build up some more fun money. lol

Funny - the only reason I got this one was the wife went on trip with her mother - it was on her bucket list. And I got another ball! She spends money on something and I get a ball. LoL

I don't have one of these, but I watched some guys throw it at a tournament I bowled in this past weekend. From what I observed, I got the impression this ball will be better for playing straighter through the front portion of the lane as opposed to trying to get way in and really swinging it. Does anyone else get that feeling, or did I get a slanted view based on who I saw throwing it?

I strongly disagree, what makes this ball good is you can get in with it. The ball youre describing sounds like a Marvel Pearl but thats another story.

Well, it wasn't that I didn't think you could get in at all, but it looked like it would be better getting in and playing really tight to the pocket. I could see someone playing a gentle belly from inside, but it didn't look like there would be much there for guys who really wanted to swing it and bring it. From what I saw, it looked as if the ball would read early and perhaps use up too much energy for guys trying to do that. However, as I said, I only saw a couple of guys throwing them. Maybe my perspective would've been different if the ball was in different hands.

I havent decided if i want it strong and controllable or sharp and angular. i am off at work nearly 2000 miles from home and i have been debating on that subject for a long time now

I polished (1500) my Lucid before drilling and the ball is going to long and not recovering. I was afraid to leave it in OB surface thinking it would start too early. The ball is drilled with the pin above the fingers and the CG and PSA slightly to the right of the palm and thumb. My ball speed is about 16mph and I have a low track. The place I bowl has a Storm Surface Factory so this week I am going to have the polish removed so the ball is back to OB surface (4000-grit Abralon).

rollingthunder. if you can upload a video and compare it to another ball that you have in the video. tell the surface finish and the polish added to it. i will be able to closely guesstimate your pap, tilt, rev rate, speed, and rotation, so dont worry about that.. i want to visualize what you are talking about. my rev rate is over 400 and my ball speed is 19.5-20.5 and the motion you are talking about is something i personally love and need on specific patterns by kegel and usbc.

No issues with either lucid.  One is 50* 5" 65* and the other is 50* 4 3/4" 20*.  As it was said before, strength and predictability unlike any asymmetric ball I've ever thrown.

I have tried mine 1500 polished and OB. Polished On fresh THS it went too long and didn't recover. OB it did better but still went a little longer than I like and not a very strong move that I am used to with Storm balls. Wish I hadn't sold my Anarchy.

Took mine to 3000 abralon and it's been great for me. I've finished it by hand with Clean N Dull and I've used a spinner too. By hand it's a little duller and a little more aggressive and the spinner puts a nice sheen kinda half shine on it. Didn't like the OOB or polish either. The ball still goes long for me, but still maintains the backend and hitting power.

Threw mine on fresh and bagged it after 2 frames...its STRONG.  All i got was like a super hockey stick motion similar to my critical theory...but it seems about 3-4 stonger than my critical...and 7 more than my vivid.  Sounds rediculous, but im 15.5 mph and rev dominant.  Solids are usually tame & contollable and pearls hook feet for me.

Im going to throw it again tonite..hopefully we got some head oil LOL

So mines wicked strong on synthetics, and burns up up with almost no backend on wood, lol

Doesn't matter what the surface or the layout this ball is strong....VERY strong.

Even with a 90x5x35 layout, a P1 hole and large quantities of polish over a 4000 grit finish, this ball is still too strong for our house pattern (41 feet, 80 units in the center, 8 units on the edges).....

Youre preaching to the lucid choir.  i had to polish the hell outta my critical just to use it, and it still is a 9 pin leaving, 4 pin trippin' mofo.

I won a Lucid from the Storm online contest.  Our league house puts down what I would consider a medium to medium heavy house shot so I can actually use it.  I have only used it 4 weeks and like it so far, I can move farther left with it than my Theory would allow.

What else are you throwing? Love mine. Thinking about getting another one! It's a monster! Since getting it I have shot 680 2 times  and 700 3 times, only 5 sets with it. Using it out of box @ 4000. Stronger that my critical theory, marvel and fringe.

what makes the ball lousy? if you dont give any details. your comment means nothing.

I have two.  Completely different reaction and love both.

He must not have the head oil for his stats to get the ball downlane. Must have oil to use the equipment and must do research before plopping down $200 for a ball. After selling and drilling a boat load of them and watching them go down the lane, I will say, its by far the strongest thing I've ever seen go down the lane. If you dont have oil, its a "dart" meaning it'll burn up at your ankles and puke before the arrows. Dont confuse longer less volume patterns with head oil. You can have a pattern with light head oil but a lot of length and still not get the Lucid to hook because its not getting thru the heads. YOU MUST HAVE HEAD OIL!!!!!

I thought it was frutiy pebbles but it has been a long while since I have had either and probably could not tell the difference today.

Don't know about Fruit Loops but it definitely has the strongest smell since the Fear Factor. I was actually glad I didn't bowl well with that ball to get rid of it, lol. The plum was a little too much for me.

I just drilled my Lucid the other day. Pin over bridge and mb right next to thumb. I only threw a few shots on a house shot today. The Lucid has a strong midlane with a continuous backend motion. The ball definitely needs oil up front especially with the out of box surface. The lucid is very similar to the Critical Theory but just not with an angular motion on the back.

Anyone try theirs with MB kicked way out?
