Title: Hy-Road Nano video and review

In case you haven't checked it out...

4 testers, THS and sport pattern...

Excerpt:
In the end, Storm added 2 known entities to create the Hy-Road Nano. This one is cover dominant, especially with this much grit out of the box. You get smooth midlane control and smooth controllable backend. It’s pretty even across it’s phases. Obviously the shape of the pattern will either make this ball look great or so-so. In the end, we felt this ball will be great for sport shots and decent on house shots. It’s a bit niche and it reminds us of the Match, Torrent and Hy-Road solid in that regard. But when you need that smoothness front and back, this ball will be great. I definitely can see this motion being an asset on shorter patterns.

I’ve owned my HR Nano for about a month now and agree, your review is spot on.

Thanks!  Glad to see some consistency.  We try to get several testers and conditions to really understand the ball reaction.

Good review. I like the use of multiple testers. But!

You mentioned that the Nano just doesn’t have enough torque to jump back from misses out. I do not come to the same conclusion on a fresh house shot. In fact what I like about my HRN is that misses to the right seem to make it back to the pocket. It may be my house shot , may be that I am throwing 16lb, may be the layout , or a combination of all that is the reason for my difference in opinion but I feel the ball is much stronger than indicated. I did notice that all the testers are all throwing 14 lbs balls.  I would be curious to see if your review would be the same if testing was with 15 lb balls since as the weight goes up so does the DIFF

Thanks. The big difference is likely the heaviness of our test house pattern.  But again different bowlers may see some differences. Our house pattern makes it tricky from the outside sometimes.  Also if you have slower ball speed, it will definitely shape more.  I tested that personally.  I will say we’ve been testing with 14 and 15 and have enough experience to know that there is very little difference. The ball reaction shape is the shape.

My specs compare to Dave's, speed about 17.5 revs about the same. I was making a comparison to his shot. May very well be pattern. Still I think my 16lb ball specs may be a factor at .058 2.52 compared to .37 2.58. I like that your reviews have someone to compare to.

Yeah, ball dynamics between 14 and 15 are closer than those to 16.  The ball reaction shape is still recognizable but 16 tends to have a bit more variation from the other weights.  And yes, for some reason, the Hy-Road core has the largest variation of core specs between the 3 weights.  I've noticed that for years.  Actually had a really hard time reconciling how different the differential is on 14 when I first switched.
