My Marvel-S Layout: 50 degrees x 4 5/8" X 3 3/4"

The Marvel-S has been a great addition to my bag. I thought I would drill it up and hardly be able to use it because it would just be too strong. I was right about it being a great addition to my bag but wrong about not being able to use it often. It has been the first ball out of my bag in my sport shot league every week and first ball out of my bag at tournaments as well.

Going with a layout that I had liked a lot on the Modern Marvel, I was hoping to see a similar ball motion. Given the stronger NRG cover the Marvel-S is wrapped with I expected to see a smoother reaction as well. What the Marvel-S gives me is exactly that. I get a very controllable but continuous downlane reaction. Not the super smooth, roll out, type backend you might expect from such a strong ball.

The Marvel-S has been more versatile than I was expecting, I have been able to play pretty much anywhere on the lane with it with success.

Storm recommends applying Xtra-Shine to the cover if your local center has an older lane surface with some friction up front from lane wear. This will give you more skid through the heads but retain the midlane and backend reaction. Xtra-Shine is going to be a recommended surface adjustment for higher rev and lower speed players as well.

If you need a strong piece in your bag for heavier conditions and prefer symmetric bowling balls the Marvel-S is a must buy.

Conditions I have used the Marvel-S on: Turnpike (41'), Highway to Hell (40'), Dead Man's Curve (43'), various house/modified house shots.

Where it fits in my bag: It's the most agressive ball in my bag when I'm not carrying around a Sync or two. When the Marvel-S is too much, I will typically ball down to an IQ Tour or Reign of Power.

When I use it: Typically to start a block and will stick with it as long as the condition allows me to or when an IQ Tour just isn't able to handle the volume of oil on the lane.
