Hy-Road Solid Failure?
« on: May 16, 2015, 01:04:30 PM »
Where did storm go wrong with this ball? It is based on a few successful balls, it has a versatile cover, and it is supposed to be an earlier Hy-Road! Why didn't the masses enjoy this ball? Is it completely different from the T-Road Solid?

Not enough shape downlane for the masses, it was pretty damn early as well.

This is exactly what I've seen. The formula they used for the cover was just a little too strong

I don't think the ball is a failure, it is just a very niche ball. I've seen people have a lot of success with the Hy-Road Solid, but I just think that the conditions have to be just right for them to see use.

No one had success with the ball and adjusting the cover?

I have one. Love it. Became my benchmark ball. I was bowking a second shift mixed league and this ball was money for me. Allowed me to move in and wheel the lane and cut through the carrydown from all the plastic on the first squad

With the success of the iq solid and nano the masses never really needed the solid

I was thinking this ball should have had 1500 polish like it did overseas.

I am surprised at this complete thread.

I had the chance to throw a couple of HyRoad Solids at a ball trial.  The conditions were much oilier that our usual shot and the ball dull was unstoppable!  Tremendous close to the hole and carry.

Subsequent I have seen the ball in my home house thrown dull and too wide and it has looked like crap.  I have also seen a polished version played by a thumb hanger low rev player and it has looked great!  Very small move to the hole and a lot of carry!

Now I have picked up a very well reviewed T Road Solid (on this site) and thrown it while still in it's righty configuration and I am surprised that a setup that is 6 1/2 X 5 1/4 cg position for me how much backend it has and push!

My question is how can it be so bad versus the TRoad Solid which was so well received?

Thanks,

Luckylefty

That's what I wanna know Lucky! I love my T-Road. I've considered storing a Hy-Road Solid. I feel like this ball might be an under-rated gem.

Well I believe the r2s has had many updates and is not the same exact cover with each release.

The T-road had to be a weaker version of the cover before it evolved into what it is today.  That's my only answer.

Compared to the iq tour, tour nano, and marvel s the ball just sucks.  Not nearly as forgiving imo
