Lineup
« on: June 16, 2010, 12:53:02 AM »
Just looking for some feedback on if anyone sees any gaps in my Utah lineup:

Invasion (500 Abralon)
Mutant (Box)
Mutant Pearl (Box)
Tropical Heat Hybrid(2k Abralon)
Reign (Box)
Fast (Box)
Natural (Use as spare ball)

If anything looking for a ball with less overall hook and smoother backend than Mutant Cell Pearl.  I had a HyRoad (Trop. Heat Hybrid Stronger) and Virtual Energy (Too condition oriented layout) that I just let go.  I have a blank Virtual Gravity and 2nd Dimension, any suggestion on layout or surfaces to fit them in, please let me know, thanks.

Two directions you could go.  FIRST......go with something like the Furious or Riot, mid performance solid and lay it out to be rolly/smooth on the backend.  SECOND.....go with something weaker like a Tropical Heat or Mars and put the pin at 2-2.5 inches from PAP.  If you did the weaker ball, 2 inch layout, you will need to put the cg at or very near center of grip and no weight hole.  I have a Ebonite Black Ice with this layout and it is the smoothest rolling ball I have ever thrown and it is even at 4000 with Factory Finish Polish.

I bowl at 2 houses where they play tight enough and with my ball speed I can throw Invasion from start to finish.  In Michigan there is oil!

Two Hands...my Fast is laid out almost pin on axis as you suggested and at 4K abralon...But I like the idea of a Riot with a rolly layout as I have seen them and they are strong at the breakpoint so never thought of it. Thx.

i took a 2nd dimension and put the pin under my middle finger and kicked the cg out about 45* or so. that gave me a really strong arc that was readable and still hit. that should give you something smoother in the back than the mutant cell pearl. shot 299 with my 2D layed out that way right out the box.
