Virtual Cleaning help

Is there any specific cleaner that would be best to clean my virtual with? I think it has a lost a little bit of overall hook, and I am thinking since it pretty much vacuums oil off the lane, I figured it would need a really good cleaning.

Just FYI, Storm's solid coverstock balls hook almost too much for me out of the box, but tend to calm down three or four boards after 15-20 games.  They don't lose any hitting power for me, they just don't have as much snap on the backend that gets me in trouble sometimes.

The Virtual Gravity comes at 4000 abralon out of the box.  I would think that surface would get changed pretty quickly.  Have you touched up the surface?  If not, you should probably lightly hit it with a fresh 4000 pad about once a week to keep a true surface on the ball.

And to answer your original question, the best everyday cleaner I've seen is Remedy RX, and about once every two weeks I'll use Clean & Dull.  And of course a hot water bath/dishwasher/Revivor to extract the oil every 50 or so games is a good idea.

Dan, not to provide evidence to the contrary, but my VIRTUAL seems to be exactly the same after about 25-30 games, with no surface alterations or rejuvination methods.  I've merely used Strom's Reacta Clean after each set and it's been very consistent, in terms of reaction, since her first day.  A couple of things I've noticed about the OOB surface on the VG, is that there are virtually no oil rings or flare marks with my drilling.  And, hardly a scratch on her.  The R2X coverstock seems to be one of the best covers on a ball to arrive in quite some time.

In all honesty, I got the virtual so it would be a hook monster, lol.
I was just looking for something to bring back the full hook potential it had when I first threw it. It hasnt lost a LOT of the original hook, but it seems like it has lost some backend it used to have...

I'm basing my results off the Dimension (also R2X solid, but the original formulation before it was tweaked) and the Special Agent (R2S solid).  Both lost about three boards of backend pop after 15 games for me, but never lost any reaction beyond that.  Because of the way I throw the ball, I actually carried better after they tamed down a couple boards on the backend, so that's fine by me!  However, I also have noticed the R2X cover seems to be very, very durable.  I've got a Gravity Shift that has probably 150 games on it between me and the previous owner that barely has a scratch on it except for a couple gouges from the ball return at a crappy house it was used at once.  And my Dimension barely looks different from the day I got it.

It has been explained to me that the VIRTUAL cover is "tighter" for lack of a better word, which means it does a better job of repelling oil and not tracking out.  Also does not soak as much.  Mine may have lost a couple boards max from the 4,000 OOB after a couple of games but none since and both of mine are in triple digits games now.

I have yet to clean them with anything beyond rubbing alcohol and have not yet hit either with an Ab pad.  But then I like most equipment better once it gets a little lane shine.

Short of doing the full hot water/dawn cleaning method and/or resurfacing, one cleaner that really "re-tackifies" a ball is Simple Green.

I agree, that turd probably couldnt break 100 with a radio contolled bowling ball. As they say, you cant polish a turd !

LOL!!  I like how people come on here & ask a legit question only to have some "turd" leave a response like that.  The other annoying thing is that someone will ask "which Storm ball should I get for.....?" on the Storm equipment board & someone suggests another brand's ball.  The miscellaneous non-bowling related section is for acting like a moron, not the bowling/equipment boards.

It worked great!
I did the warm water treatment and then gave it a good cleaning.
Today I took it to the lanes and threw a few games with it, and it was revitalized. I bowled 2 games, 221 and 227.
On the other hand, I put tape over the thumbhole and fingerholes to keep water out and when I took the tape off, there was a sticky residue left over. So I went into my workshop and found an adhesive remover and took off the sticky since it wouldnt rub off or soak off. It kind of accidently polished around where I wiped it off, so I had about 1/4 of my ball polish and the rest OOB, hahaha...
I took it to the shop after the 2 games and told him to polish it all up and then hit it with the 4000 to bring it back to OOB.
Did just the trick, shot 279-252-290=821 with it. Granted I wont lie, it was a walled up (fresh) house shot, but still, ball seemed like it was on its first game again!

It shouldn't.  I am not sure how much covering the holes help becasue the water should still soak through the tape.  I never have had any issues without covering the holes.
