I need a new ball.. pretty badly, I want to buy a new X-Factor Reloaded.

However, this new Fear Factor ball worries me.

If it is that much better should I wait a month and buy it instead?

Is it going to be THAT much of a difference?

Thanks for any help!

If I were you, I would wait for the fear factor, unless you got some big tournament coming up, and you need to get a new ball right away. I have the same prob. I want the fear factor, but I need a new ball for a big tournament that is coming up, and the fear factor wont be out yet. So I am just going to get the reloaded for now, and the fear factor a couple months later now.

Thanks for the quick feedback guys!

Truth is, I'm fairly new to bowling and allot of the tech speak confuses me.

However, I just educated myself on most of what "tuckin fen pins" was referencing.

I'm an old fashion stroker... however, I've built up allot of muscle lately and have been cranking quite a bit.

I am currently bowling with an OLD Earl Anthony Magnum Six... about 20 years old or so.

With that I am averaging about 160, with my best being a 192.

I have bowled in about a dozen lanes, all different conditions, but my "Home" lanes are synthetic, medium oil.

I am consistent on all surfaces though... around 150.

The specs given of the new Fear Factor and the XFactor reloaded indicate to me little difference as I'm not yet a full out cranker. Although I want to be.

I am only interested at this point in having the most power when breaking into the pocket.

This is why the X Factor core got me.. seems to be very powerful.

I guess the main question would be... is the Fear Factor going to have more KICK into the pocket?

Again, I want to thank you both for the much needed info.

Seeing as you are using fairly old equipment andyour average is probably suffering because of it I would probably recommend staying with something more along the lines of the Flash or Hot Lines. These balls will still give you the "Hit" you are looking for at the pins but also will help you keep control of the ball which will also lead to higher scores. I run into alot of bowlers getting back into the game after a lengthy lay off or older bowlers just looking for an edge but using old equipment like yourself. Personally I would save some money and go with something like an Eraser Pearl Particle or even a Hot Wire and get it fit and drilled by a knowlegeable Pro Shop and I truly think you will be better off than any of the masterline balls. You will get the hook and power you are looking for, save some money, and still have control of the ball. All which will lead to a happier you and better scores!
