I know this is variable but how many game did you get out of your Invasion before you had to resurface and let the proshop machine really clean this ball..

Nothing reacts like a new ball..  O what a feeling...  lol

What pro shop machine "really cleans" any ball?

A Rejuvenator or a Revivor  extracts the oil. I don't know of any machine that cleans the ball.

What I meant was -- How many games are you getting out of the ball before you are having to re surface the ball

Depends on the surface of the ball, and whether you're talking about a touch up, a refacing, or a complete re-surface.

A touch-up entails throwing the ball on a spinner and hitting it with an abralon pad or some polish.  A refacing is getting as close as possible to replicate the factory finish (i.e. 800, 800, 1000).  A complete re-surface entails sanding the ball down to get rid of scratches, gouges, and the such and then bringing it back to factory condition.

Since it sound like you're talking about a touch-up, in my experience a polished ball doesn't have to be touched up as often as a matte surface ball.  I touch up a ball like the Invasion about once every 6 or 9 games.  Whereas I touch up a polished ball once every 12 to 20 games depending on how it looks or is reacting.

No one can really say, exactly. There are too many variables involved (rev rate, amount of wear on the lane surface, amount of oil). Many current strong coverstocks, like this one, require more than they did in the past. A Storm/RG rep came on here and said the Theory could use a surface refreshing every 7 games! Yet, Storm indicates that the new Nano requires less maintenance than other coverstocks.

You have to look at the ball regularly and you have to observe its performance closely.

For a ball whose final surface is 4000 grit, I'd suggest a refreshing at least every 12 games. Depending on the effect of the above variables, it could be more or less.

Thanks - Will work on phrasing the question better next time...

That explains why the ball is reacting strange...  Its needs a tuneup...
