Title: IQ Pearl really IS good
Post by: iowalefty on March 26, 2013, 11:19:41 PM
I have had this ball about 2.5 months now.  Tonight I shot 242 269 289=800, first career 800. I have had 3 11 in a row (277 290 and 298) and a 300. 5 honor scores in 2.5 months, compared to 7 in my first 33 years of bowling.  Making me think I should get a 2nd one and stash it for now..

And FWIW, this is 800 #2 at my house this year, after I think none last year.

Congrats! Great bowling! Those are some serious honor scores!

I am still not convinced it's a ball I need, though. I've seen this reaction on other pieces and in my hands(rev dominant) I think it's a ten-pin maker!

Alot of people are throwing it at my house, so far with mixed results.  A few have thrown it well...but even they are having the problem you are having with corner pins. I have had some bad carry too at times, but those nights are still low to mid 600's. Mostly the carry has been excellent for me even when I get in deeper, say 22 at the arrows to 12-13 at the break point- still drives thru the pins.

The core does not like to cover boards, the straighter the better!  Of course there are exceptions like belmonte and the marvel pearl, and my marvel solid loved to cover boards...but the only thing I see people leave are ten pins.  That whole line is always in the pocket, great balls...but the ones who score with the centripetal know how to adjust off of tens and know how to avoid leaving tens too..
