hyroad questions
« on: March 11, 2014, 09:21:16 PM »
Has anyone here put surface on a new hyroad right out of box at around 1000 grit no polish. I am curious how the ball will react when dulled and how much stronger it will get and if it will still maintain it popular ball motion with just more overall hook. thank you

I hit mine with 2000 and was surprised at how much earlier it started up and more  hook. I would suggest 2000 first then 1000 if you need more.

So it was stronger did it still maintain a similar ball motion as out of box down lane buts just starts up sooner on the lane. I know it will be stronger I just want to know if it will still be continuous down lane I just dont want it to give me that hook stop motion I have one out of box and love it bu considering 2 and keeping one with some surface

Yes, it was still continuous down lane, started early and never stopped! Even though it had a strong motion, the sanded one never seemed to carry well. Very easy to find the pocket, just good for nine pins. Put polish back on. I would suggest a different layout instead of just different surface. My rico drilled hyroad is always first out of the bag. If that starts too early or is not carrying, I go to the other hyroad that is pin under the middle finger.

I had one pin up that I loved for the transition... was long and continuous. after it started dying a bit and the game count got up i hit it with 2000 and it came back to life. it was so smooth and predictable and became my benchmark ball. It's the most versatile ball on the market, there's a reason it's been around for 5 years

I had mine at 1000 and it wasn't nearly as good as with polish. It burned up and hit like a turd when while at 1000. With polish there is no better ball out there.....Melee is really good, but that Hyroad can handle more oil......
