This is crazy, but my average is 46 pins higher at one house over another, both House Shots with my IQ Tour Fusion. Strike % is 22% higher. Yet when I have practiced at the house were I am struggling with it, I have had some very good games.

It's clear that I am not matching up with it at one house and matching up at the other and my issues has been more then normal 10 pins, and 4 pins. Some over under also.

The house that I am struggling at has AMF Syn. and strong backends. Some say the fronts are light in oil and and others have told me that the AMF Syn. have a touch more friction then the Brunswick lanes that the other house has, add in the strong backends and many people struggle especially low speed players.

Between houses, my average at the end of the past two years has been very close.

Having never used a Low RG like the IQ series, what are your thoughts on why I am struggling at the one house? To early of a roll? Not enough length?

Specs
13.75 at the back of the lanes speed wise
20 Tilt
65 Rotation
PAP 4 7/8" up 3/4"
Revs 250
Play between 15-10

Ball is drilled 45 x 4.5 x 40 which puts the Pin above the ring and the CG slightly kicked right...no weight hole and I did not use the thumb as the first number even though I know it migrates to it.

Balls that has been working on the AMF lanes but never any big games are,
Vibe XR 55 x 4 x 75
X Factor 40 x 5 x 45 small weight hole on Center line and on the VAL line

HPLs are high friction,  I do not use low rg balls on this surface.

Brunswick Pro Anvil is lower friction than the AMF lanes, but it's probably more than that. A bit lower volume of oil and you could be playing a couple of boards away from the track the local bowlers have burned into the lanes.

Also, does the house have an overall lower scoring pace? Old pins(or a different brand), worn kick plates, poorly maintained(not cleaned) pin decks can all affect scoring.

You do know that different houses can have different tracks from the local house bowlers...right? I would watch where the higher average bowlers in the house play, try the line they play.

Both great points, thanks.

House carries a 178-182 ave for our league the past 2 years I have been there based on 100 male bowlers. Much higher for lefty's. About 20% average 200+ with a few above 210

They will not tell anyone the pattern, but word is 39-40 feet.

High speed mid low revs to med revs do well. Up the track if lower revs and inside with more revs is what I have noticed. My guess I am not playing deep enough more often then not for the best line.

I think because of the temp and humidity outside it's playing strong. Shot had more area and was easier at the end of last year with my X Factor, but it seems to change all,the time.....OB for about 2 months, now that is gone?

Looking at a Rumble, Shout 2013, Vibe Deep Purple Pearl, Uproar, or my NIB Vibe Envy because the Vibe XR and X Factor are pretty strong by game three with 5 man teams.

5 man teams? That can also be a factor. If you have different team mates in the two houses, then watch where the rest of your team bowls. Team mates can have both positive AND negative effects on the rest of the teams scoring pace.

I bowled one season with a guy who used a 500 grit sanded Marvel. He intended to throw it straight up the 15 board as, according to him it was his "money shot". He hit the 15 board sometimes, but not that often. What he did manage to do was destroy the middle of the pattern. LOL

By the third game, the scoring pace plummeted and everyone was pissed off. Ironically, we won the league as every team we faced had to deal with the same thing we did, except we were used to it.

TheGom....Are you a down the boards bowler...If so the IQ Tour Fusion could be
a tough ball to control...Especially if you have slower ball speed...

You either punch the nose...or if you adjust to much...you hang...

In my area...that's a common problem...

My guess I am not playing deep enough more often then not for the best line.

I'm going to say this based on other information you provided and my experiences with my IQ Fusion. IMO it needs some oil up front otherwise it will either hook early(4 pin or worse) or even burn some(10 pin). I've found I can usually be 2-4 boards deeper on the lane with it than I think I "should".

Thanks guys for your thoughts.

To jls,  I play at that house 2nd to 3rd arrow so some swing. I wish I could find a ball to play up the boards because know does and I think there is a shot there.

To al_g, I think the heads are light on oil to start with.

To be honest, I am struggling period at this house this year as I did at the start last year.

I need to find a weaker ball and see of this helps but I need something that will not jump to much because of my 20 degree tilt and 65 Rotation.

Thanks
