Looking to add 1 more ball before season starts. I have a fusion- IQ Tour pearl - Hy road pearl and a Oath. Looking to replace Oath with another solid ball. Trying to figure which way to go. Both balls look very similar to me. Looking for someone that has thrown both the Hyroad Solid and the IQ Tour solid. Looking for a nice benchmark ball to start the night out. Thanks !!

Haven't thrown the hyroad solid, but have thrown the IQ solid. For my game, and the predominant tournament patterns as opposed to house shots I play on, the IQ is the definition of a benchmark ball. I can get to the pocket on almost any pattern with the IQ, and adjust off that ball easily if it isn't carrying.
Only caveat, I am not sure the IQ is as good on house shots for me.

It depends on what you want and are willing to spend. I was interested in the balls earlier and this video helped me out. My Pro Shop guys swear by the Hy-Road's, he calls them the best line on the market.

Up the boards or track area...go IQ Tour
Deeper inside...go Hyroad Solid.

I like to play out if possible or pretty close to track area. Looks like IQ Tour Solid.

Without knowing much about your style, other than preferring to.play around the track, it is difficult to call.
The hy road series is great, so is the iq series. You have one ball in each of those lines. Do you prefer one over the other? If you do, maybe lean that way.
I do not think you would go wrong with either.

If you are looking for a benchmark to start the night then I'd go with the IQ Tour. The Hyroad solid, even though it sports the same cover seems to have a stronger cover formulation in my eyes along with a higher diffed core. It chews through the front part of the lane like an HP release and smooths out on the back. It's a great tournament or sport pattern ball for straighter angles.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate the info. Looks like i will get an IQ tour solid as my benchmark. If it starts leaving flat 10 s or hooking too soon, move on to my Fusion. If that has too much backend drop down to my IQTP or my Hyroad Pearl. Love my Super Natural for spares and extreme dry lanes. I should be all set for the season.

While it looks like you have already made a choice ( a good one ) I will add two more points. I think the IQ is a much better ball for guys like me with a little less hand, and I normally do throw my IQ more direct. Second, I normally have about 4 balls in my tournament arsenal, and turn them over on about an 18 month cycle. The IQ is the oldest ball in my arsenal, and I don't see replacing it any time soon.
