Essentially. It's maybe a hair more reaction compared to plastic but not much

Mix balls are made of urethane. There used to be a big difference between urethane and plastic (actually polyester) 25 years ago. With today's resins, being the main coverstock material, there is a lot less difference than there used to be.

Urethane and plastic will have larger differences in ball reaction with 2 different circumstances: one, with drier lane conditions, or light oil, urethanes will hook more than plastic; two, bowlers who are rev dominant will find urethane hooking for than for bowlers who are matched in ball speed and rev rate or for speed dominant bowlers.

Aside: urethane or plastic balls when used with more dynamic cores (larger RG differentials) vs, the more traditional pancake cores, will have more overall ball reaction but still very little compared to resin coverstocks.

On oil, the Mix is going to be a hair stronger than a plastic ball.  I'm talking 1 or 2 boards at most.  On dry lanes, the Mix will give you a much better reaction than plastic.  If you're looking for a ball to use for spares in most situations, that can also double as a good burned lane ball, then the Mix is a great choice.  The lanes need to really be toasted for a plastic ball to hook, and even then plastic gives you a bad reaction and roll.  The Mix will give you a more familiar look in that situation.

Why do you user your right hand for some balls and your left for other balls?

I hurt my right wrist about 2 years ago, and bowl almost exclusively left handed now.
